When you start a new game, you first have to select a difficulty setting. The options include Standard and Casual. You can later change the difficulty anytime in the Options menu 
.
Character Creation[edit]
Character creation involves selecting an appearance, class, voice, and entering a name. Each appearance has a male and female version, two styles, and three colors. You can change styles by pressing . Initially, you only have access to the Samurai, Agent, God Hand, and Duelist classes. More will unlock as you progress through the game. There are 40 different voices you can pick.
