Soldiers[edit]

Blue[edit]

Ikari Warriors Soldier Blue.png

Blue soldiers make up the majority of the enemy army. You will see them throughout every inch of the enemy territory. Blue soldiers primarily rely on their guns, but they will throw grenades occasionally. All soldiers can walk through bodies of water. However, a few blue soldiers have trained in underwater sabotage. You can see these soldiers when they are underwater as a slightly lighter circle. You can't shoot underwater soldiers until they rise out of the water, but you can hit them with grenades.

Red[edit]

Ikari Warriors Soldier Red.png

Red soldiers are far less frequent than blue soldiers, but they are in possession of special skills. When Ralf or Clark kills a red soldier, a power-up tile may appear in their place. Collect these tiles, and Ralf or Clark will obtain the skills left behind by the defeated soldiers. Not all red soldiers will leave tiles behind.

Green[edit]

Ikari Warriors Soldier Green.png

Green soldiers are, by far, the rarest of all soldiers in the entire enemy army. When they are defeated, they will leave behind one, and only one kind of tile behind; the K tile. Collecting the K tile will instantly kill every enemy soldier present on the screen. Green soldiers aren't extremely brave, and have a tendency to turn around and flee immediately after firing one or two shots at the players.

Flame throwers[edit]

Ikari Warriors Soldier Bazooka.png

Flame thrower soldiers pack very heavy shoulder mounted equipment. As a result, they can't fire at the players on the run. Instead, they must move into position, take a knee, and prepare to fire at the player. Once one of the players moves into range, they launch a large blast of flame at the player. It has a long range, but it does not continue to travel all the way down the screen. However, if the players get too close, they will stand up and run away.

Self-destruct[edit]

Ikari Warriors Soldier Destruct.png

Self-destruct soldiers appear very much like a regular blue solider, and that's what makes them so deadly. When you get close to a self-destruct soldier, their appearance will change very briefly. They will flash red, as depicted in the image to the right. If you see this happen, immediately run away. Shortly after a solider flashes, they will explode with a large grenade blast that can take you out if you are standing too close.

Mines[edit]

Land[edit]

Ikari Warriors Land Mine.png

Land Mines are stationary. They will begin to beep and flash if you get too close to them. They will explode if you happen to step on them.

Water[edit]

Ikari Warriors Water Mine.png

Water Mines are visible in the water all of the time. These mines float on the surface of the water, and have a tendency to roam around. They gradually get closer to you, so continue moving when you see them.

Missile Target[edit]

Ikari Warriors Missile Target.png

Missile Targets are similar to land mines in that they are stationary. However, they do not instantly explode when you step on one of them. Instead, stepping on one signals a missile to launch from far away, which targets the trigger spot on the ground. At that moment, you have very little time to get far away from the target to avoid the blast.

Vehicles[edit]

Small Yellow Tank[edit]

Ikari Warriors Tank Small1.png

Yellow Tanks patrol a small region of the enemy army. The cannon at the top fires large blasts that are more than capable of damaging another tank. When facing these menaces in a tank, shoot from outside their range. When facing them on foot, move quickly to get inside your grenade throwing range, and lob a grenade at them to do away with them.

Small Green Tank[edit]

Ikari Warriors Tank Small2.png

There is very little difference between the yellow tanks and the green tanks. The same strategies that apply to the yellow tanks can be used successfully against the green ones. Be aware of what direction its cannon is facing, and don't forget to collect the gasoline and other power-ups they leave behind.

Large Tank[edit]

Ikari Warriors Tank Large.png

There are only two large tanks in the original game, and they show up simultaneously. If you are in a tank, and attack quickly enough, you can do away with them before they become much of a threat. If you are on foot, you will have a much harder time deal with them. Approach them slowly, and wait until they are advancing upon your position. Then toss a grenade up at them and run away while the tank explodes.

Helicopter[edit]

Ikari Warriors Helicopter.png

Helicopters typically fly overhead when you are crossing bodies of water. They fly by, spraying the area with bullets. They advance from the top of the screen to the bottom, and never deviate from this course. If you don't think you can get within range quickly enough to destroy one with a grenade, then get out of the way entirely.

Buildings[edit]

Turret[edit]

Ikari Warriors Turret.png

These stationary fortifications present very little threat. They are actually more dangerous when you destroy one with a grenade because of the explosion that they create. Someone inside will be manning the gun and using it to fire at you, but the range is limited. You can easily get close enough to lob a grenade and destroy it. Just don't get too close.

Dynamite Turret[edit]

Ikari Warriors Dynamite Turret.png

A Dynamite Turret is very much like a regular Turret, only smaller. The explosion that is created by a Dynamite Turret is just as dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs. You typically see these turrets in locations where you drive tanks. They are designed to slow your progress. Be careful, even the enemy can "accidentally" blow up turrets. Smaller Dynamite Turrets are also used to block the end of certain bridges.

Gate[edit]

Ikari Warriors Gate.png

As you proceed through the enemy territory, you will reach checkpoints that are closed off by electronic gates. Sentries guard the walkway above the gate entrance, sniping any intruder who gets too close. The only way to remove the guards is by throwing a grenade at them, since your bullets won't penetrate the wall. Likewise, the only way to remove the gate is to blow it up with a grenade, as the enemy is certainly not going to open it up for you.

Bunker[edit]

Ikari Warriors Bunker.png

Bunkers occur towards the final end of the stage. Enemies can pour out of them and attack you, but it is possible to use a grenade to blow the entrances up and prevent more enemies from showing up.

Rocks[edit]

Large Rock Face[edit]

Ikari Warriors Rock Face Large.png

These faces carved into large boulders are secret weapons created by the enemy to surprise intruders. The mouths of the face open up and three arrow shaped missiles exit the mouth simultaneously. The missiles fan out and must be avoided. Grenades and tank shots are the only to shut down these rocky menaces.

Small Rock Face[edit]

Ikari Warriors Rock Face Small.png

Small rock faces are very easy to miss, and can cause you a lot of grief. They shoot an arrow from their mouth that travels horizontally across the length of the screen. They fire these off at regular intervals. What's worse, is that these small rock faces cannot be destroyed, even with grenades or tanks. You'll have to carefully maneuver between arrows to safely advance.
