LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is a video game based on the first four Harry Potter novels. It is the first game in the LEGO Harry Potter series.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Like other LEGO adaptations, the player controls story characters, playing through the novel. Along the way are many collectibles which, once acquired, unlock new characters to play, cheats, and other goodies. This particular LEGO game includes some changes and new features, including "Student in Peril" collectibles, casting spells to progress, potions, and a new hub system. Where in previous games, players returned to a central hub before progressing the story, in LEGO Harry Potter, players actually continue on to Hogwarts where they can wander around and find more collectibles and learn new spells. Purchases are made at Diagon Alley.
