In Magical Vacation, you will assume the role of a 14-year-old student at Will-o'-Wisp Academy. First, you must select your protagonist's gender; the hero is suited for physical combat (HP, power, defense), whereas the heroine is more adept in magical traits (MP, agility, spirit/magic defense). Once you have chosen your protagonist, go ahead and name them—a name based on food or drinks will help you fit perfectly into this game's world!

Next, you must choose your starting element, which is represented by a spirit. Only thirteen of the sixteen total elements are available to you right now. However, you can learn magic from other elements via Communication, which is required for unlocking love, dark, and light magic later on.
