When you start up Maplestory DS, you get a screen with clouds. Push on the button and you'll get a screen where you can choose to make a new data file. If you choose one, there will be a little story. Then you can choose between Simple-mindedness or Resourcefulness. (It is recommended for beginners to start with Simple-mindedness, because it is simpler than Resourcefulness.)

When you've chosen one of the two jobs, you now have to draw your signature. Now you can begin, but with only one character. If you've archived chapter 10, you can choose the other characters in the main screen as well.
