Period 8-1[edit]

Robo Warrior Period 8-1 map.png

When you first arrive in this period, you may think you have returned to the first period, but it only looks that way. It's a very short board with no tricks, no treasure rooms, two hidden staircases to underground tunnels, and one important secret. This is the last stage where you can find a pool of water that will double up some of your inventory items.

Access to the first underground tunnel is hidden below a group of trees along the bottom of the stage. Beyond that, you will reach the middle of the stage, which narrows when two pools of water appear on either side of the area. The bottom pool is of particular interest. If you bomb the wall at (1) five times, you can open a gap. Then you can run in and up to the point at location (2) to destroy all of the enemies on the screen, and double up most of your inventory items.

Continue to the right until the screen stops scrolling and the exit appears. The second staircase to an underground tunnel is hidden in the center portion of the screen. In order to obtain the Key, you must first go up to the top of the right wall and bomb a gap at (3), then make your way down to the bottom of the screen, and bomb a second gap at (4). Then clear the area of trees until you find the Key, and escape.

Period 8-2[edit]

You've made it to the very last darkness level. Hopefully you have at least one more Lamp to light up the level with. From now on, if you enter an underground tunnel, you can use up whatever Lamps you have left, as you will not be needing them for any future Periods.

Don't bomb the second statue from the right.

This stage is a bit like Period 7-1 where you had to bomb several blocks out of the walls in order to proceed. The blocks which you can destroy are marked by the red circles. If you make your way to the wall at location (1), you can bomb it to find the entrance of a treasure room. In this treasure room, all but the second statue from the right contain items. Among those items, you will find two more Lamps.

In the middle of the stage, you will have to wind your way in and out of the various chamber to make it to the weak point in the wall that you can bomb to proceed to the second half. Eventually, you will make it to a wider opening with single blocks arranged like an arrow. Only one of the blocks near the very top can be bombed open so that you can continue to the end.

In order to reach the key, you will have to travel along the bottom of the end of the stage, bombing out particular blocks as you go, then proceeding up the right side until you can begin to bomb so of the blocks that open up passages back to the left along the top. The Key is hidden beneath some blocks in the upper left corner of the screen.

Period 8-3[edit]

Robo Warrior Period 8-3 map.png
There are no statues behind (1).
All of the statues behind (2) contain bee tiles.

This is the very last traditional stage of the game. It is not dark, and it does not loop, but it does contain so many walls that you need to bomb, that it will make the last board look simple. Bombable blocks are indicated by the blue circles. If you have any Megaton Bombs, you may wish to use it when you first start, just to clear out the blocks and make it easy to determine which direction you want to search in.

The underground tunnels in this stage suffer from the same black floor phenomenon that existed in Period 7-4. Nevertheless, it is still advisable to explore them, as there is a very good likelihood that you will find 100,000 point tiles, which is very advantageous if you've had to continue and your score reset to 0.

If you follow the map and attempt to explore the treasure room behind (1), you will be disappointed to find that the room is completely empty. However, if you continue on and explore the treasure room behind (2), you will find five statues, all of which contain the Hudson Honey Bee symbol tile. These tiles will randomly increase one of your inventory items by one count.

The Key is hidden in plain sight at the end of the stage, and you should have little problem navigating your way to it, provided you can correctly identify which blocks need to be destroyed, and as long as you can keep your bomb supplies up by defeating enemies. From here on, you have two bosses to defeat.

Period 8-4[edit]

The first boss that you must face is known as the Golem. He is a giant monster made of stone who hurls boulders at you at incredibly speeds. While you may be inclined to attack him with your Hyper Missiles, he has an annoying habit of side stepping you, and attacking you from a diagonal direction. As a result, it can be near impossible to hit him with Hyper Missiles from far away.

The best strategy to use against him is to try to pin him against a wall, or better yet a corner, and shoot Hyper Missiles at him from a very short distance away, before he has time to maneuver himself away from you. Keep the pressure up and don't let him get too far away so that he can reposition himself and avoid your attacks. Of course, you'll need to keep an eye on your energy meter, and recharge with an Extra energy item if you're down to your last battery. If you have any Megaton Bombs, five will destroy him. You could use one or two here to help, but it might be better to save them for the next fight.

Period 8-5[edit]

This is the final stage of the game. You will face the fourth and final damaged control computer, known as Ice Brain. Ice Brain shoots out gobs of ice that land on the floor and transform into incredibly fast moving ice slugs that race across the floor. These slugs are not restricted to particular directions, they can and will approach you at any angle with incredibly accuracy and speed.

Naturally, you're job is to pummel the Ice Brain with enough attacks until it breaks down and is destroyed. You can utilize all of the Megaton Bombs that you have left until your supply of them is depleted. If you run out, or have none, hopefully you have plenty of Hyper Missile left to finish the job with. While the slugs move quickly, the Ice Brain isn't particularly fast, so you should have no problem hitting him from short to medium range distance. You can use bombs in a worst-case scenario, but be careful not to touch the brain, as it does particularly high levels of damage to your ZED.

Once the Ice Brain is defeated, you will have freed planet Altile, and restored peace to the land. You will be treated to the ending and the credits. Congratulations.
