Superfrog is a platform game that contains six worlds, containing four level each. To complete each level, you need to collect a minimum number of coins (shown at the bottom-right corner of the screen), and reach the exit. As with most platformers, obstacles include various enemies and spikes.

Before staring the game, you may change the options for the session. You may set the number of lives to 3 (default), 5 or 7, and set the difficulty to either Easy or Normal (which affects the available time for a level.)

Superfrog has an energy meter, which shows that he may survive three hits before losing a life. However, spikes are generally fatal. When a life is lost, he will reappear at the last restart coin collected, and will lose any collected powerups.

At the end of each stage, you are awarded bonus credits based on time remianing, fruit collected, and coins collected. You may collect 5000 points for each coin, or instead gamble them for a chance to earn more points. While you might not earn points if you gamble the credits, it is the only way to collect level codes within the game.
