I think it would better describe the stages if there was screenshots for each of the levels. Superjustinbros. 16:13, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Absolutely. If you wanted to split the information out of the table and into sections with an image for each one, we could split it up into different pages, like Rounds 1–20, Rounds 21–40, etc. or some other grouping. — najzereT 00:20, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
Well-said. The only problem is that Motos gets extremely difficult extremely quickly, and there is no continue feature for the original arcade version. So thus I can only get to about Round 15 before I receive a Game Over with the maximum starting stock of 5 lives. I have MAME set up, but I don't know any cheats for level select, level skip, infinite lives, and infinite power/jump parts. Superjustinbros. 18:45, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
As the original creator of the guide, I feel I should participate in this discussion. I originally created the walkthrough page as a table because the game is remarkably similar to Namco's own Grobda (from 1984), and it even features that older game's "easter egg" in its service mode; however, if either of you are thinking about splitting it up into separate pages, you should be aware of the fact that the game's amount of rounds can only be divided exactly by two. Therefore, you could split the table up into two pages entitled Motos/Rounds 1-31 and Motos/Rounds 32-62 or cover all sixty-two rounds in a dramatic rewrite of the existing walkthrough page - and the cheats for "Infinite Lives", "Infinite Power" and "Infinite Jumps" in MAME 0.77 (released 11th November 2003) are as follows:
  • Infinite Lives: motos:0:1826:03:000
  • Infinite Power: motos:0:182D:FF:000
  • Infinite Jumps: motos:0:182C:63:000

If you want to, you can copy these codes and paste them into your "cheat.dat" file then enable game cheats in your default game options for MAME. That is how I gained the information for the walkthrough table last year! Namcorules 16:18, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Well, I use MAMEUI32, since it's easier to run. But I do not know where to find and activate cheats. Superjustinbros. 22:44, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
It's very easy to do; first, you must select "Default Game Options" under the "Options" menu in MAME. Under the "Miscellaneous" tab, you should check the box labelled "Enable game cheats" then click "OK" or "Apply" to save your changes for the current session - and once you have loaded any emulated romset by pressing Enter in the list of available games, press "Tab" to bring up the MAME user interface menu. You will notice that there is a new option between "Game History" and "Reset Game" entitled "Cheat"; once you have selected it, you will be taken to a sub-menu featuring the options of "Enable/Disable a Cheat", "Add/Edit a Cheat", "Start a New Cheat Search", "Continue Search", "View Last Results", "Restore Previous Results", "Configure Watchpoints" and "Options". If you select the first option, all the cheats for that romset in your "cheat.dat" will be listed - however, if you try to reset the game with one activated, the emulated hardware will crash. I do not see a "cheats" menu after pressing TAB during gameplay, even after selecting to enable cheats. Heck, there is no "Game History" and "Reset Game" option in MAMEUI32. Superjustinbros. 18:49, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Level Maps[edit]

I've figured out how to do MAME cheats and since I've compiled all of Motos' levels in a single image: http://i.imgur.com/lAxSD.png

I'd also recommend putting up details of the ZX Spectrum version of Motos; it has weaker enemies and has exclusive rounds that only appear in said version (Round 33 and up). Here's the ZX Spectrum maps. There's also a Commodore 64 port which I believe has the same changes present in the ZX Spectrum version.
