Marked for deletion[edit]

I'm not the creator of this page, but I don't think it should be deleted. Of course, it needs to be improved considerably, which I hope to work on soon. --Pelago 21:45, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Does this information need to have its own page? Also, are these screenshots necessary? — najzereT 21:46, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
When complete there will be (I believe) six grids for each of the nine worlds. They could all be on one page as an Appendix, or six grids added to the bottom of each world page in the Walkthrough, although I think all on one page would be better. I imagine the original author took screenshots because they were easier to take in a hurry, but a grid (table) would be better. The point of this information is that, although the "Power-Up Panels" (which is the name of the bonus game on screen) look random, there are actually only six layouts per world, so having them documented helps the player maximise their winnings by avoiding the Bowser squares. --Pelago 21:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah, okay, sounds good. :) Thanks for clarifying. I'll help get it integrated and it sounds like we can get rid of the low quality images as well. Thanks for the quick response! — najzereT 22:08, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I'm the original author of this page, I have much more pictures from the other worlds, if anyone wants to write the info down, send me a message and I can provide you the pictures (as you didn't like the low quality images, I wont upload any more). Also, I know at least world 3 has 8 sets. Hanno 22:53, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
I tested out the format of putting the panels into tables with images, so do you think that could work? It would be great if we got the actual power-up panel images instead of the models, but I didn't have any luck finding them online. We could just use text instead of images as well. Let me know what you think. — najzereT 00:33, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
New table format looks excellent. Most of the images are good except for the Bowser and Bowser Junior ones. I've been making my own written notes of all the layouts, and I'm still pretty sure there are only six per world, and all other sources I've found agree so far. --Pelago 22:55, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Two questions[edit]

Should this page be moved to "New Super Mario Bros. Wii/Power-Up Panels"? Now that the tables are set up for the first world, can we get rid of the screenshots? — najzereT 21:48, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to move this page to "New Super Mario Bros. Wii/Toad Houses" and a few sentences added to cover the green and yellow Toad Houses too, as I think that is what a user would probably look for ("Power-Up Panels" does appear briefly on-screen, but the fact of entering a Toad House is probably more memorable). The page could also cover rescuing toads in order to make the Toad Houses reappear. I don't think the screenshots are needed any longer. By the way, I hope I did the columns and tables correctly, as I'm not really familiar with the syntax. I have Worlds 2, 3, 4 and 8 available in a spreadsheet ready to be put into tables if all looks well, and am working on Worlds 5 to 7 (it takes a lot of replaying!) --Pelago 22:28, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Having just double-checked the manual, if we're going to be strict about case, the manual calls these things "Toad houses" not "Toad Houses". --Pelago 22:39, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
The syntax looks good (it's pretty complicated so that the images align nicely). We can call the page "Toad Houses" if it's referred to as "Toad House" in the game, not "Toad house". The naming standard is just for when we make up the page names ourselves. Feel free to move it to whichever name is used in-game and I'll cleanup the redirect. Thanks for working so quickly on this! — najzereT 23:02, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

White space[edit]

I've added all layouts in Worlds 2 to 8. Now it looks rather like a wall of images! Is there any way, I wonder, to increase the vertical white space separation between panels, where it currently has the text "Layout 3, Layout 4" and "Layout 5, Layout 6", to make it easier to see where one grid ends and the next starts? --Pelago 22:40, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Added some padding to the bottom of the tables; does that look any better? — najzereT 20:04, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Lovely, thanks. --Pelago 20:48, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
