Other Trophies[edit]

The unlockable ones are done and listed, but it's a bit unsure what to do with the others. Should a section for all the trophies that can be gotten via random means be added? Maybe bullet them off? And for the character and final smash trophies, should they be listed even though they might be kind of obvious (To get Wario trophy, beat Classic mode as Wario)? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SFOXMASTERX (talkcontribs) .

We can just do 2 or more sections, I'll set it up. And yes, we want to document them all. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:59, 26 March 2008 (CDT)

Overhaul[edit]

I think this table is not as useful as it could be in its current form. In my opinion, readers of this page will want to either know how to unlock a trophy, or know if they're missing any trophies. Hopefully someone can comment on how it looks in the vault before you obtain a trophy.

  1. Can you see the name already?
  2. Can you see where you get it or any information at all?
  3. Is the vault split up into different sections?
  4. Are there placeholders so you know how many more you need?

Unless trophies are split into sections based on their series of origin, using that metric to sort the table seems quite useless. Mentioned in the introductory paragraph are these areas:

  1. completing challenges
  2. clearing Classic or All-Star modes as a character
  3. by hitting an enemy with a Trophy Stand
  4. finding them in The Subspace Emissary mode
  5. finding them in Coin Launcher mode

I think this is more important information than series of origin (unless that's how they're split up) or games listed, which I don't even know the meaning of.

There is a lot of information on this page, and it needs to be sorted in a meaningful way. To me that means by name, where it is obtained and what group of trophies it belongs to if applicable. I think there are two ways to do this.

Revamp the table[edit]

The first method would be to put meaningful fields in the table and make it sortable. That way it could be easily alphabetized or sorted on where you get the trophy. Right now the latter information is located in the "How to Obtain" column, but not in a sort-friendly format. Here are my suggested columns:

  • Name
  • Short name for where you get the trophy
  • Specifics on how to obtain the trophy
  • Description

I don't know what games listed means, but that and series of origin seem like trivia which should only be added if there's enough room.

Get rid of the table[edit]

Alternatively, we could take all the info out of the table and put the trophies in alphabetical order under first-level headings with their beginning letter and use the {{alphabetTOC}} feature.

The advantage of using the table is that the information could be sorted in more ways than just alphabetically. On the other hand, using normal page headings would allow more room for information and is easier for less experienced users to edit. Personally, I would like to stick with the table for pure information value.

That being said, if there is an agreement to change the table, I don't mind doing the grunt work! So let's figure out a way to make this information more accessible and useful. Thanks, - najzere 07:25, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Basically, the Vault has a Challenges screen where all the unlockables (trophies, stickers, CDs, stages, etc.) are depicted behind a blue window. At first, when the window is blue, you can't see any information about its contents. But when you unlock the item in one of the two windows adjacent to it, the window turns red, and then you can see a silhouette of the item behind it, and what you need to do to get it, but not its name or description. The Challenges screen isn't split up or organized by series of origin; however, the Trophy Gallery (which lists the trophies you've already collected) is.
It should be noted that if the table is made sortable, the "Series of origin" field needs to be listed individually for each row, instead of using single cells that span multiple rows; otherwise, sorting completely screws up the table format. Wanderer 22:14, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay, that's good to know. What about the "Games listed column"? Is that needed? Also, can you suggest anything else the table needs besides Name, Series of Origin, How to Obtain and Description? Is it possible to have a field for where the trophy is obtained?. - najzere 22:35, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
AFAIK, all the trophies that have a blank in the "How to obtain" column are either found in Subspace Emissary, or randomly appear in the Coin Launcher, or randomly dropped by Celebi. I'm not sure, but I think they might be randomized when you find them in SSE. It may be possible to obtain the same trophy either from SSE, Coin Launcher, or Celebi. As for "Games listed", that's displayed along with the description when you view a trophy in the Gallery. I'm not sure if it's really needed. Wanderer 00:47, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

There are only specific trophies you can get in SSE. Not sure about Celebi. The rest appear randomly in coin launcher. The only useful organization method would be based on the pages they show up in when looking through your gallery, which is sorted by game IIRC. -- Prod (Talk) 07:26, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
