  • So Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is among my favorite games of all time, and my favorite game on PlayStation. When I heard about Strategy Wiki, I decided that it would be the first guide I would try and complete, I currently don't have a copy of the game, but I recently purchased a copy online and I will get my hands on it shortly. I plan on using it to make the walkthrough sections and just maybe making some less than perfect screen shots (camera and big tv) for use in the walkthroughs. Anyone's welcome, especially Tenchu fans, to help write some walkthroughs, or to maybe do an enemy guide. I appretiate the help I've allready gotten on formatting and cleanups.

You might want to look at downloading something like this to take screenshots when you get the disk, from what I've heard, you can put the PS disc in your PC and play it legally with the ability of taking screenshots. I haven't got it but it looks good.--Rocky Rally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 13:44, 6 June 2007 (CDT)
To note, we don't officially support emulators here. Although there are people who use them, the bios is still illegal to distribute (without which you can't run the game, or something like that). A more "legal" way would be with one of those pc cards that you can connect to your tv to record with. Note that we don't ask where you get your images from (you could try the official website as well). -- Prod (Talk) 13:54, 6 June 2007 (CDT)
Sorry I misread the article, you do need to get a bios dump and they're illegal to distribute so you would need to get one from a PS, I'm guessing that'd be messy so try Prods' idea.--Rocky Rally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 14:30, 6 June 2007 (CDT)

Stealth Kill Hint[edit]

I played a lot of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins back when Playstation was new. This game and the sequel were great. After that, they started being awful. I hate it when a game series is taken over by a different developement team and starts a downward trend.

Anyway, enough reminiscence. I found that it is easier to evade being sighted on Tenchu games, especially this game and Tenchu 2, if, instead of allowing the ninja to complete the stealth kill with the "special" animation, I maintain enough distance between the ninja and the enemy so that the sword just contacts the enemy's body. It will still be a stealth kill, i.e. the enemy will still die instantly and it will not alert nearby enemies, but the time taken for the kill is reduced such that the ninja can quickly run and hide. This way, I don't have to worry about some other guard trying to kill me when he walks along and witnesses his buddy's head being slashed off. After I discovered I could stealth kill this way, I almost always killed guards this way, because it offers absolutely no disadvantage (unless you just want to see the special animation).

The reason I am bringing all this up is that I think it might be a helpful hint to players and that it might fall into the scope of this guide, but I don't know where to include this information. This is already a great guide, and someone (or some people) obviously put a lot of work into it, and I don't want to just go adding something that everyone else thinks is too trivial. What does everyone else think? Rikimaru, you said this was one of your favorite games. Is this information helpful to you? Perhaps you would want to include this tip in the guide? I would suggest Tenchu: Stealth Assassins/Stealth Kills or just mention it at the first time it is used. Otherwise, create a new hints page for it. -- Prod (Talk) 17:36, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
