Tashiro Masashi no Princess ga Ippai (田代まさしのプリンセスがいっぱい? lit. Masashi Tashiro's So Many Princesses) is an action game developed by HAL Laboratory for the Famicom and MSX2 systems, and published in Japan by HAL and by Epic Sony Records in 1989. It features and is named for the Japanese celebrity Masashi Tashiro, known for his comedy shows, TV presenting, co-founding the band Rats & Star and for various legal troubles later in his career.
The story is about the hero Masashi Tashiro who has to rescue the four princesses in distress. One happy ending and four unhappy endings were used in the game; becoming one of the first video games to have multiple endings. The game was not very successful, but it started appearing frequently and getting high prices on online auction sites like Yahoo! after 2000, when Masashi Tashiro was arrested and convicted several times in connection with voyeurism and drug abuse.
Tashiro's chief weapon is his yoyo, which can be thrown vertically as well as horizontally. It can be upgraded for a spreadshot affect. After the game was released, EPIC/Sony withdrew from the game business and went out of business, and HAL Laboratory became a subsidiary of Nintendo. Neither the Famicom or the MSX versions of the game were ever released outside of Japan. However, a fan translation of the Famicom version was produced which can be found here.
