A business transaction goes sour as one party attempts to backstab the other.

The people[edit]

The collapsed man[edit]

It might be tricky to see from the back, but this is a familiar face. Looking in detail shows that this is David Gorran.

The woman[edit]

This is another familiar face, Lucia Smith.

The boy[edit]

This is yet another familiar face, Little Pip.

The dog[edit]

Little Pip calls it by the nickname of Coin. There is no such name in the list. The note on the wall lists Little Pip as being in charge of two names, Black Bestia and Golden Doubloon. Going by the nickname, this is Golden Doubloon.

The masked man[edit]

Lucia carries a newspaper with an article about a gentleman thief by the name of Walter Keene. The drawing in the article matches this man.

The man in the olive jacket[edit]

The cart has the name "Birkham workhouse". The note book inside it lists a Hardy Abe as being from there and having a cart.

The man in the blue jacket[edit]

He is carrying a saw as well as some lockpicks. The note book in the cart lists a burglar and lockpick called Jack Nails. The tattoo of a pair of nails on the back of his hand just cements this.

The man in the chest[edit]

It is a bit hard to tell, but this is a familiar face. The "E.C." monogram is known to belong to Edmund Cloudsley and can be found on both the book and his clothes.

The book found on the man in the chest will give all the information needed for this section.

Filling out the scroll[edit]

The first sentence[edit]

This sentence states what was requested by whom and how it was delivered.

The master of the house, Edmund Cloudsley wanted to continue his experiment with the apples and thusly needed a corpse.

The second sentence[edit]

It seems like David Gorran delegated the task to Walter Keene who delivered it in a coffin.

The third sentence[edit]

Walter backstabbed them and in the tumult Hardy Abe clubbed David Gorran using the club he is carrying.

The fourth sentence[edit]

This sentence states who set the trap and how.

Edmund Cloudsley rigged the idol to increase the air in the sealed vase.

The fifth sentence[edit]

This states who died and how. It was Hardy Abe and Jack Nails that were flung away as the vase exploded.
