Characters[edit]

Loggers[edit]

These two lumberjacks are the protagonists of this game; Player 1 controls the red-jacketed one on the left, while Player 2 controls the blue-jacketed one on the right. They will receive 10 points for every chop they make on a tree, and it takes five chops to completely fell one - you shall also receive 500 points each time you fell one (along with 1000 extra points if, in a two-player game, it falls on the other player). They will also grow red or blue berries depending on which player had felled them, as the number in the appropriately-coloured window frame of the Foreman's cabin increases by one; if they manage to fell all the trees on the round, before the timer runs out, the Foreman will shake the hand of the Logger who had felled the most trees, and speak the text "Congratulations, Player One/Two! You Finished With Time To Spare! Bonus XX00" (XX being your remaining seconds count multiplied by 1000) to him. He will then slap the other Logger in the face or drill him into the ground before the next round.

Foreman[edit]

The Foreman stands at the doorway of his cabin during every regular round, smoking on a cigar, as he watches the two Loggers at work; he will also occasionally look at his pocket watch, and when the timer is down to 10 seconds he will reach for the cord of the steam whistle mounted on the left side of the cabin. Once the timer runs out, he will blow the whistle and cause an earthquake - which will cost both of the Loggers one life.

Birds[edit]

Occasionally, one of these avian creatures shall peer out of a tree as either Logger is chopping away at it; once it has been felled, he will run out of it and start running randomly around the screen. If either Logger manages to collect him before he runs off the screen, he's worth 1000 points.

Bears[edit]

Starting from the second round, these ursine creatures will walk into view from either side of the screen and throw a beehive at the Loggers; the beehives can be avoided (by simply moving up or down), or they can be chopped (for 500 extra points). However, if a beehive should hit either of the Loggers, the bees inside will emerge from it and eat away all his clothes (except for his boxer shorts) - which will cost him a life.
