Description/Strategy

Preparation: don't waste time leveling up beforehand since it won't do you much good. In fact this seems to be a general rule of thumb for all the bosses in the game. The reason is that Wingraptor's main attack is based on your max HP, so if you level to get more HP then you'll need to spend more time healing and less time attacking, which pretty much cancels any advantage you get from making your attacks more powerful. Instead, make sure everyone has a good weapon equipped and you have plenty of Tonics on hand.

Tactics: Wingraptor has two forms, attack (with extended wings) and defense (with wings folded into a shield). If you attack its defense form, not only will you fail to score any damage, but it will counter-attack with a move called Iron Nail which will seriously inconvenience your party. So when it assumes its defense form just use the time to heal with Tonics. Attack when it's in its attack form but immediately use tonic on anyone whose healths falls below 50%.
