| While you may find a bit of variability with the paths that you may take on your way to fight the fourth dragon in Round 4, if you know what can be found in each location, there's really only one path to choose.  The a-e-f path will help you pick up everything that's available through the other paths, and more, including a crown, which will free you up to collect two mushrooms in the next round.  a-b-c is also a decent choice, as there is an opportunity to collect the crown in Round 5 as well, but avoid d, as there is little point to visiting it.

| The path you take in round 5 depends entirely on what your priority is.  If you're looking to rescue Celia, and you don't yet have the Crown, then d-a-c allows you to pick up both the Sceptre and the Crown, along with two Fireball Special scrolls.  If you already have the Crown, then you can benefit from d-e-f which provides you with two chances for mushrooms!  If all you really want is to get to the dragon quickly, you can simply take a-b, and make sure you gather the shield along the way.
