| Spiders are fairly simple enemies. They prefer to walk along the ceilings, but will occasionally drop down to attack you. They jump back up as quickly as they fall and continue along the ceiling. Don't think you can safely walk beneath them. Swing your sword to dispatch them before continuing on. | |||
| If there's one enemy to be on the look out for after you've collected a Super Sword, it's the Thief! Although you no longer have to decide between holding the sword or a sceptre, your possession of the sword is not permanent. If a Thief hits you while you have the sword, he will grab it and try to run away. Smash him with your regular sword to get the Super Sword back before it is gone forever. If you don't have the Super Sword, the Thief is just a minor annoyance. | |||

| Ghouls are rather unique enemies; they cannot be harmed by your sword. Not even the Super Sword can scratch them, although the more powerful upgraded version of the Super Sword can. Ghouls are susceptible however to magic, so you'll either need to push them out of your way with your sword, or dispatch them with a spell in order to move past them. | |||
| This strange little creature scuttles along the ground of the dungeons at quite a high speed. It can be difficult to catch them even when you're running. It doesn't like to be too close to Clovis. Instead, it prefers to stand a short distance away and do what it does best: spit stones at you. The stones come flying out of its mouth, which happens to be situated on the top of its head over its giant eye. | |||
