For the PSP version, see Need for Speed: Underground Rivals.

Need for Speed: Underground 2 is the eighth game in the Need for Speed series. It follows the success of Need for Speed Underground by giving you an open world to travel around. It's also the first time a model, Brooke Burke, playing Rachel, is in a Need for Speed game. Even though your goal is to complete all the races you find in your career, you also have to earn plenty of reputation and upgrade both the visual and the performance of your car. To earn even more cash, you can also appear on magazines and DVD covers. There is also a version of the game called Need for Speed: Underground 2 SHA_DO that is only available in Japan on the PlayStation 2. The Nintendo DS version of the game was originally going to be released in Japan, but was canceled.
