New Leaf City info

Images that are uploaded here need a specific format. The name should start with an abbreviation for the game (In this case, MS), and then followed by a short title of what it is. Sometimes they fall into another category, so if you were to upload a picture of a monster, then the file name would need to be "MS Monster _____.png". Your image is entitled "new monsters" and obviously you can see that's not right. I'm gonna use this as an opportunity to try my new powers and rename yours to the proper one. --IsaacGS 14:03, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

Also, the Fraps counter is something I'd like to discourage, it looks ugly and doesn't really fit in. Well first off, If you are not using Firefox 2.0, I would recommend that you get it, as it has a built in spell checker. Avoid using shorthand like "u" in articles, and refer to areas by their full name (Ludibrium instead of Ludi). Image naming

I see you've been uploading a few images lately. When doing so, could you please make sure to name them properly? Also, when putting the extension (like .png) on images, make sure that the images are actually in that format. For example, all of the uploads today that you did had the .png in the name, but were really .gif. Please make sure to name them properly in the future. New Monster/Monster Info

Yep. Though some of it an be determined from ingame (For example, you could pin down the KB value of a weak monster relatively easily, and EXP is obvious from in game.), the vast majority of the data is obtained from the client itself. The people that extract the data are using scripts to crack the file and extract it. About your images not getting credit: just go to the image page, click edit, then say "Originally uploaded by {{user|Ofir38}} and renamed by IsaacGS."—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) .

I checked on Horntail from JMS, and the stats are the same as the ones we have. I can't check the stats from KMS, but I would think they're the same. There's no real way to know, though, until that change reaches JMS or another version, assuming it hasn't been changed already.--IsaacGS 15:12, 12 August 2007 (CDT)

About the names of the images, I re-uploaded them because for one, most of them needed renaming to a proper name, and for two, you had them in the wrong format. Just because you call it "MS Monster Grandpa Red Snail.png" doesn't magically change it into a PNG file. You must load it into an image converter program to do that. And it's not like having them as GIFs is a bad thing necessarily, it's just that when an image is extracted from the data of the game, it comes out as a PNG, so most of the files here are already in that format. I renamed them to (more) correct names, and converted them all to PNG from GIF. It's not like there's a lot of glory in having uploaded the image though, so I don't see what the big deal was. o-o --IsaacGS 15:16, 12 August 2007 (CDT)

About MSEA's update, for one I can't find any proof that they are getting the dungeon, for two we don't know if they'll get the rest of the dungeon, for three we don't know what else will go in the patch... Um, yeah that's the chart I was talking about. Talk:MapleStory#Templates is a list of all the templates. If you look at Template:MapleStory/Versions/Areas, that's the town availability, and so on. It can be a bit confusing to attempt to edit at first, just make sure you preview your edits so that you aren't messing up the table and/or are editing the right thing. The Amoria Dungeon Extension is likely to come out in at least ThailandMS, because they have the first map, so it seems possible. On the other hand, you've got this wild card of KMS, where if they get Amoria PQ, it will need to be accessible from the town, not the dungeon area, so that's fairly separated. That system is very old, it's been in KMS and SEA for over a year. It's not important enough to warrant a separate box, and more than likely it won't be going to any other versions. Content Tone.

Keep in mind when you are adding things to page (for example, the Monster Carnival info.) that we are trying for a professional tone and a uniform format. When editing in this new info, try to keep in shape with the other content on the page. The Monster Carnival section was in a totally different tone and didn't conform the existing format used for the other Party quests. Do not use phrases like "pictures Soon" or emoticons ("^^") in your edits, and also avoid using first person, and second person where possible (I or you). Let me give an example of how a new PQ section should go:

==Name of the Party Quest==

The ______ PQ is a Party Quest from (Whatever version)MS. A party of (How many people are needed to enter the PQ) is needed, as long as they are all over the level of (Level requirements go here). The time limit is __ minutes (or hours, depending on the Quest). . An NPC named (Name of the NPC you need to click on) is located in (Name of the Area the PQ is from) lets you inside. It is currently only available in (list the versions where it is available).

So, next time you want to add something like that, try to keep it in a format similar to this. KMS content

I don't see why that would be necessary, for a few reasons. Number 1, the vast majority of the game is created in Korea. As far as the other versions go, the only things they are 100% guaranteed to Eventually get are from Korea. So, simply knowing that the game was created in Korea (which is documented on the first page of the guide, and also common knowledge for most people.) should be sufficient. Number 2, going through and adding an "exclusive" flag to everything that was in KoreaMS would be tedious an unnecessary, and leaving a note at the bottom instead also seems unnecessary (As stated in my first point.) lastly, I think the fact that the only column with a "Yes" in it would make who invented it rather self-explanatory. :p--IsaacGS 15:22, 19 October 2007 (CDT)

Icons

Just because you can't see those icons in Global or EuropeMS doesn't mean that they aren't real. They're found in KMS, and they're passively present in GMS's data even now.
