Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Shadow181! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the editing article or the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:57, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Also[edit]

If you have things you want to say about the guide you are working on, you use the talk page, found by following the "discussion" link in the toolbox on the right side of the page. You'd leave messages talking about your changes, or asking for help on those pages. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:57, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Furthermore...[edit]

The names that you are choosing for your image files are poorly chosen, and all of the images that you have uploaded will need to be renamed. It should be obvious to anyone who looks at your image filenames, what game those images originate from at the very least. You will save the admins of this site a tremendous amount of time if you can take care of this matter on your own. Images that need to be renamed will be tagged. If you do upload the files with proper filenames, please tag the old images with {{delete}} and they will be deleted for you.

Additionally, [[Category:Maple Story]] is not the correct category to file Maple Story images under. The proper name for this category is [[Catgeory:MapleStory images]]. Please use it when you upload the properly named version of your images. Your contributions are welcome and appreciated, but we need you to conform to the guidelines and practices that have been established in order to keep the content on the site well organized. Thank you. Procyon 09:13, 27 February 2007 (CST)

(Edit conflictx2) It would be useful if you prefixed all of your images about items with "MS_Item_", so for example, the image you now have at Image:Image-White Undershirt-Male.png should probably be at Image:MS_Item_White Undershirt-Male.png. I realize it isn't a huge difference, but it's one of the things we try to do to keep this place organized, there are many images uploaded every day and if there isn't a good structure for naming them, then they can quickly get out of hand. Thanks again for all your hard work, hope to see that list finished :). -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:28, 27 February 2007 (CST)

MapleStory/Items[edit]

Earlier when we were planning this book, it was somewhat decided against having an items page. Trying to have a list of all the items in the game would just take too much work, and there is already a great list at hidden-street (and sauna, who have better pictures as well). The furthest we were planning on going was to have a list of the shops in each town. If you would like to add some images, do it for those tables found on the towns pages. -- Prod (Talk) 12:20, 27 February 2007 (CST)

To be fair, I didn't know where to find information about items. If we were going to rely on an outside source, we should make that source very clear and easy to find for the reader, like an external link in the TOC. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 14:04, 27 February 2007 (CST)
If you're going to be making a lot of images, you might as well use higher quality images; try using GIMP. --Notmyhandle 23:07, 27 February 2007 (CST)
Can you use Category:MapleStory item images (or just leave a list of the images you uploaded on my talk page and I'll take care of it with my bot). -- Prod (Talk) 23:35, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Guidelines for marking articles for deletion[edit]

Hello, Shadow181, I've noticed that you've marked quite a few images for deletion without providing a reason why. It is always good practice to mark articles for deletion with the reason parameter, like so: {{delete|your reason here}} or {{delete|reason=your reason here}}. This helps out the sysops that go around and perform the deletion, as they can see why they are deleting the article/image on the page itself. Other than that, you are doing a great job and I hope you keep up the good work! --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 08:14, 2 March 2007 (CST)
