I like the idea, but I'd suggest putting them at sys/nocat instead (and the same for the others), since they're just "special" cases of the main template.  It also avoids increasing the amount of transclusion of these high-use templates. -- Prod (Talk) 20:49, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

::We could go with rd/nocat and do what you had before, first parameter of the relevant country.  We could also reuse the current country specific templates, by adding a fourth |nocat (or numbered) parameter, which is hardcoded into rd/nocat and passed through to release date, though this will require modifications to all the current rd-style templates.  Alternatively, we could create one for each country rd, but that also causes problems for maintenance. -- Prod (Talk) 21:57, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

:::Yeah, the easiest thing to do is just use one template for all of them. rd/nocat is probably the best, as it's the generic instance. The thing I liked about using one template for sys, co and rds, is it kept the syntax consistent over all cases. Now the rd one has the extra parameter, so it feels kind of awkward. I'd have liked to see things like that go in the forums, but I don't think enough people would notice.  It would have to be manually updated to fulfill the stated purpose, but it does sound useful.  It could actually go beyond that and just be a place to throw a link if something seems like it might be important to more than just the parties involved.  Things like major reorganizations of a large guide, or a new interesting template being created. -- Prod (Talk) 03:18, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

:Yeah, it could have more diverse uses. It would have to be manually updated, but only by the person who wants to serve notice. It would be to their benefit if they're trying to raise awareness, and I think it should be mandatory for anyone proposing deletion. Besides the whole idea of going offsite to comment on this one being absurd, the forums also lack the ability to be watchlisted. Then again, the staff lounge is likely on all the admins' watchlists but that certainly doesn't make them any more active. ::::You can set your watchlist to expand for all changes instead of most recent in your preferences. Lagging items should be dealt with in their respective categories. The problem I see with expanding the scope of the page, is it starts to encroach on other processes already in place, such as cleanup categories, the staff lounge, and (dare I say it!) the forums. The changes you've made don't preclude people using the page how I originally envisioned it, so it's no big deal. Hey Naj, good catch as usual.  In theory (under idealized circumstance), those buttons are not just useful to the Fist of the North Star game, but also to other Atomis Wave games, such as the later King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, and other such fighters that came out on that hardware.  Personally, I think we can get better quality images, like we have for the Neo-Geo buttons.  Ultimately, I would categorize them under Arcade control images.  <span style="color:red">Pro</span><span style="color:grey">cyon</span> 19:55, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

::::::There was labor involved to produce the image. Our images get copied all the time (often without credit), so I feel that we should be the better man. -- 00:24, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
:::::::Correct, though the labor to produce the image was on the part of the developer and/or publisher, which is why they are the copyright holders and the only parties required to be credited. If putting the name of someone who pressed print screen and uploaded a file to the internet in the image description makes you feel like a better man, then that's a personal choice. — <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 15:01, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
::::::::Right, crediting the screenshotter is not of a legal matter, but of a moral one.  First, the original issue posed by JordanH has been answered. Secondly, diverting to the other side of the issue, since we are a community, it makes sense to uphold respect for all people. Why? Because they can be part of the community! Non-members can become members, forum goers, contributors to GFAQs and MobyGames, they can all become our contributors. Although we have some elitist policies (e.g. external link minimization to strengthen our independence), we don't have to be disingenuous towards strangers or other sites. It's a choice that affects our reputation.
::::::::I know the issue is insignificant in the scheme of things, but it really pisses off people who do the work. I'm not one of those people, anymore, because before contributing, I convince myself that working for the public domain is best (even if SW has a slightly restrictive license).  Also, people may modify screenshots.  A modified image can no longer be fully credited to the original copyright holders. -- 21:18, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
┌───────────────────────┘<br />
You keep saying "people who do the work", but as someone who has taken a screenshot before I can tell you that it is no work at all. If the screenshot is modified, whether the modifier needs to be credited depends on how much modification has been done. Cropping, lightening, watermarking, etc. doesn't add enough to the image for it to be considered original, from a derivative copyright standpoint. Anyway, all you're saying is it's nice to put a credit in every circumstance, and you're welcome to that opinion and no one is stopping anyone from doing so. So, thank you for your thoughts, I guess. — <span style="color:#909090">najzere</span><span style="color:#993300">T</span> 21:27, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Mario Tennis and Mario Power Tennis.
Hello. You still working? I want to clear... how do you put it? Let's say the title page. I want to nicely fresh up the things that was typed near the boxart. Can you help refresh it? I'm having a comfortable time working on the Mario Tennis on Wii VC and Mario Power Tennis on GC and Wii. It's not exactly like Scarface getting a star treatment but in my solo, lonely work, my skills are getting better. Not exactly the grammar but in the brainstorming. I'm getting carried away here. Anyway, at least refresh the title pages and I'll be able to finish the guide and at least have a good time with it. I don't know if you're a fan of those games but it wouldn't hurt to try them. Take your time.
Thanks. Johnnyauau2000 12:13, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

NBA Jam and Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes
Perhaps you didn't know that NBA Jam has been released for the Wii. I'm about to make a new page but I can't decide on the title. Should it be NBA Jam or EA Sports NBA Jam? Same with a mouthful Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes of Samurai Heroes. I have to say the titles is not always straightforward but I'm certain there's not one game with such a long title anyway. What do you think? Long or short? Let me know.
Thanks. Johnnyauau2000 00:59, 16 October 2010 (CDT)
