Proto Eye
Proto eye is pretty much the easiest boss battle in the game which all characters are going to be able to defeat it easily.
Once you've completed the game, you can unlock additional characters. You can replay the game as any of these characters.

As it comes toward you keep attacking until it gets close to you. to get behind it, be ready and as it jumps again run under it and get to the other side.
Mega Man
* Weapon: Mega Buster
The main hero of the game, and the only one available from the start. He has the same capabilities as in the original NES game, starting out with only his Mega Buster, which fires tiny yellow pellets. You can only have three pellets on-screen at a time. He is the only character who gains a new weapon by defeating a Robot Master.

In normal mode each time that Proto eye gets to either side of the screen, it'll shoot a green ball at you. Which is really easy to dodge.
Mega Man S
This is Mega Man with the Slide ability first introduced in Mega Man 3. Hold Down and press the Jump button to slide through small passages or under enemy fire.

In hard mode it'll shoot three balls. It's better for your character to stay on the other side of the screen and try to jump above the one in the middle (short jump to aviod hitting the highest one.)
Mega Man C
This is Mega Man with both the Slide and the ability to charge his Mega Buster, first introduced in Mega Man 4. Hold the Fire button to charge up, then release it to fire a charged shot. Charged shots are much more powerful than Mega Man's normal shots, and can break through enemy defenses.

Cut Man
Mega
* Weapon: Mega Kick
This is Mega Man with no armor, no Slide, and no weapons, not even the Mega Buster. He can only attack by kicking his enemies.

General: Cutman constantly jumps so you shouldn't get confused. If you run toward him, he will jump over you. So you shouldn't hasistate or he'll land on you. After you run toward him and he jumps over you, turn back and run toward him again and he'll jump over you again. You also have to attack while doing this.
Roll
Roll's only weapon is a broom, which she swings like a club. She can perform a double-swing combo if you press the fire button twice while on the ground. You can download a variety of alternate costumes for her; some of these costumes give her a different weapon, but they all still work the same way. None of her costumes change her gameplay in any way.

But after a couple of times he won't jump and will stay to throw cutter at you. So you have to be on guard and ready if he suddenly stays. Mostly it won't be a problem if you get ready after three or two jumps. When he throws a cutter don't run away from it since it's useless. Instead, jump over it and run toward Cutman. Cutman will as usual jump over you and the cutter won't come back to you again because Cutman will be already behind you.
Protoman
Protoman has a shield which can be used to block enemy bullets. He also runs faster and jumps higher than any other character, but he also takes more damage than anybody else.

Cutman's special attack is that he throws a giant cutter at you. You will understand when he wants to do it because he is going to stay and say "Cutting it up!" while shining and being invincible. You have to stay on the side and as he throws it, jump over it, then Immediately change your direction and run behind the cutter and move back to your previous position. In hard mode, Cutman's going to do it two times in a row each time. So be ready.
Robot Masters
;Cut Man
* Weapon: Rolling Cutter
* Weakness: Super Arm
As a playable character Cut Man can throw two Rolling Cutters at a time instead of one and he also can wall-jump to reach higher areas (except ice walls which will cause him to slip).

Megaman: If playing on normal or easy mode, use the Guts Blocks first and then use buster canon but if you're on hard mode just use buster canon.
;Guts Man
* Weapon: Super Arm
* Weakness: Hyper Bomb (Old Style), Time Slow (New Style)
As a playable character Guts Man can create blocks from the ground and throw them using his Super Arm. However, only 5 blocks can be placed on one screen and he can't make them while in midair or when standing on Conveyor Belts or Drop Lifts. Guts Man can also use his blocks to trap enemies and even bosses.

Bombman: Rolling cutter is bombman's weakness so you have to be careful in this boss battle when playing as Bombman. Don't throw bombs aimlessly, each time after you run toward cutman and he jumps over you, turn back and slam a bomb at him. And be careful with the big cutter because it's going to cost you a lot of health.
;Ice Man
* Weapon: Ice Slasher
* Weakness: Thunder Beam (Old Style), Hyper Bomb (New Style)
As a playable character Ice Man is able to freeze his enemies and use them as platforms to reach higher areas.

Oilman: Just like Bombman, as Cutman jumps over you, turn back and shoot oil at him.
;Bomb Man
* Weapon: Hyper Bomb
* Weakness: Fire Storm (Old Style), Rolling Cutter (New Style)
As a playable character Bomb Man can throw his bombs in various directions. Also he can throw 2 Hyper Bombs at a time (while Mega Man is only limited to one).

Bomb Man
;Fire Man
* Weapon: Fire Storm
* Weakness: Ice Slasher
As a playable character Fire Man can shoot his Fire Storm and melt ice blocks when he is standing on them. However, when Fire Man touches water, he can't shoot Fire Storm anymore because fire doesn't works in water, but he still can summon the protecting orb around him to deal damage.

General: Bombman jumps and throws bombs at you. When he jumps you have to notice where he wants to land and if you're in his way, run away. In normal mode which he throws only one bomb at a time, you have to simply dodge the bombs and Bombman himself. If you found yourself stuck on either sides (near the walls) when he throws the bomb at you, just as it land jump and you'll be fine (It will
;Elec Man
be explode when you're in mid-air and won't hurt you. In hard mode, he throws two bombs at a time. Running away won't help you to dodge them. The trick actually is that when he throws the two bombs you have to stand between them and as they land, jump (not to the left or right, only on your position). If you're near a wall, things change. One of them will explode into the wall. So in that case you have to stay between them and not jump. But try to avode getting to the corners anyway. Bombman's special attack is that he trows a giant bomb at you. Note that when he wants to do it he'll stay in one of the sides and says "I'll show you!", "That's a bit harsh" or "Don't cry now!" and you have to go to the other side. He does it in two different ways:
* Weapon: Thunder Beam
* Weakness: Rolling Cutter (Old Style), Oil Slider (New Style)
As a playable character Elec Man can shoot his Thunder Beam in 3 directions (up, down and forward) and also charge up Elec Blocks to make them move.

* He throw the bomb directly at you. In that case you simply have to run from it and dogde.
;Time Man
* Weapon: Time Slow
* Weakness: Thunder Beam
As a playable character Time Man attacks by firing two clock hands: one upward and one downward. Holding the attack button will make him charge his attack and when releasing it, Time Man will use his Time Slow, slowing down time longer than Mega Man.

* He throws the bomb near himself and it would bounce toward you. In that case stay and after it does it's 2nd bounce run and try to pass under it when it does it's third bounce. Right after you dodge it notice where Bobman jumps because in many cases it's you're head where he lands on.
;Oil Man
* Weapon: Oil Slider
* Weakness: Fire Storm
Oil Man is probably the worst playable character in Mega Man Powered Up. His weapon is powerful only when he crashes into the enemies with Oil Slider, but he can also take damage if the enemy remains. Oil Man can attack with the globs, but he can't fire more than one and this is very hard during boss fights. Oil Man's only advantage is that he can double jump when jumping off his Oil Slider and he can also ride the slider on the water surfaces.

Megaman & Cutman: Use Rolling Cutter and dodge Bombman when he gets hit. You can also cut bombs he throws (even the large one!) using Rolling Cutter. Should be a breeze.
Mega Man?
When playing as any robot master, they will be replaced in their own level and in the 3rd Castle Wily stage by Mega Man?.

Gutsman: Just try to create and pick up the Guts Blocks in the right time. In hard mode, do it when he wants to do his special attack and after the attack is over, throw it to him.

Oilman: Oil Slider is a bad idea. Just be patient and use oil drops to hit him.
Stun weapons: None

Ice Man
Mega Man?'s attacks are very easy to avoid. All he does is runs back and forth while firing 3 buster shots (1 on Easy) and jumping sometimes. He can also slide which you can easily avoid by jumping over him when he does that. After his HP drops below half (anytime on Hard) he'll start using charge shots which are also easy to avoid. On Normal Mega Man? will stand still when charging his buster but on Hard he keeps moving when charging it.

General:When fighting Iceman, you need to be careful not to slip if you're fighting him in his own stage. Iceman walks around and shoots three ices at a time. He walks, stays, Shoots three ices, Three more ices and then walks again. This is how it goes. You have to stay on the side. If he gets far from you, well don't worry. But if he got close to you be ready to jump over him if he got too close to you in his next move and go to the other side. He shoots the thre ices in three different ways:
Guts Man: Fighting Mega Man? as him can be hard. Try to place a block in the middle of the arena and attack him at the right time. His charge shots can't destroy your blocks.

* He will shoot 3 ices in a row while on the ground. In that case jump over the first two, then the last one.
Oil Man: To deal normal damage to Mega Man?, you need to crash into him with your Oil Slider. But that's not without risk, because you can also get hit if you're not careful. Otherwise oil blob deals minimal damage. With blobs you'll take him out in 28 hits and with oil sled - in 14 hits.

* He will shoot one while on the ground and the other two while in mid-air. You just have to be worry to dodge lower one. But when you dodge, do a short jump not to hit the higher ices.

* He will jump and shoot two in mid-air and the last one on the ground. Be ready and as you saw the second ice passed over your head jump and dodge the last one.

Iceman's special attack is that he will land a cresset between himself and you which your attacks won't get through it. Only Iceman can attack on the other side. When that happens stay calm and just dodge until the cresset melts (and don't stand on the cresset). A few characters can attack from the other side of the cresset. If you jump as cutman and throw the cutter and Iceman is in mid-air you can hit him. Also you can jump and shoot oil drops at Iceman as Oilman. You can hit him with Timeman too. In hard mode he lands a couple of cressets. When he wants to do it (Jumps and says "Ice!"), shelter on the corner because it's the only sefe place from getting hit by them. Be patience and wait until they melt.

Bombman: Hyper Bomb is Iceman's weakness. In hard mode break the cressets with your bombs and keep attacking him.

Megaman: Use Hyper Bomb. But In hard mode don't waste your bombs breaking cressets. Focus on attacking Iceman.

Gutsman: When he wants to attack, create a block and the ices can't get through. Throw the blocks at him when he's walking.

Fireman: Ice Slasher is Fireman's weakness. So it's harder to fight him as fireman. The key is being veeery patient and careful.

Oilman: Use oil drops.

Copy Robot
The Copy Robot is a duplicate of whichever character you're playing as.

Copy Mega Man
Unlike in the original NES game, here Copy Mega Man can switch weapons independently of you, rather than being limited to using the same weapon you are. However, he takes on the weakness of the Robot Master whose weapon he's using. Pay attention to his color scheme to see whose weapon he's using, then use that Robot's Master's weakness. Unless he uses the Rolling Cutter; there aren't any blocks around to throw with the Super Arm, so just use your Mega Buster then. On Normal Mode, he'll have the Slide and charge shots, even if you don't. On Hard mode, he will only use Mega Buster charged shots.

Copy Roll
Copy Roll likes to run toward you and use the double-swing, apparently unaware that your temporary invincibility will make the second swing useless. The same goes for her, so don't make the same mistake. The key here is jump swings. When she runs toward you, jump over her, turn in midair, and whack her from behind right before you land. The landing lets you instantly recover from the swing, so immediately run away before she can counterattack. If she starts jumping toward you, run under her, turn, make a short jump, and strike from behind, then run away.

Copy Protoman
Copy Robot Masters
The Copy Robot Masters fight exactly like their originals do when you fight them as someone else. The differences in the Robot Masters when they are played as do not apply to their copies, so keep that in mind. Since they're all resistant to their own weapons, you won't be able to do much damage to them per hit. Neither can they, but they can inflict collision damage on you. Note that as Timeman, your Time Slow cancels out Copy Timeman's.

Once you've completed the game, you can unlock additional characters. You can replay the game as any of these characters.

Mega Man[edit | edit source]

 • Weapon: Mega Buster

The main hero of the game, and the only one available from the start. He has the same capabilities as in the original NES game, starting out with only his Mega Buster, which fires tiny yellow pellets. You can only have three pellets on-screen at a time. He is the only character who gains a new weapon by defeating a Robot Master.

Mega Man S[edit | edit source]

This is Mega Man with the Slide ability first introduced in Mega Man 3. Hold Down dpad and press the Jump button to slide through small passages or under enemy fire.

Mega Man C[edit | edit source]

This is Mega Man with both the Slide and the ability to charge his Mega Buster, first introduced in Mega Man 4. Hold the Fire button to charge up, then release it to fire a charged shot. Charged shots are much more powerful than Mega Man's normal shots, and can break through enemy defenses.

Mega[edit | edit source]

 • Weapon: Mega Kick

This is Mega Man with no armor, no Slide, and no weapons, not even the Mega Buster. He can only attack by kicking his enemies.

Roll[edit | edit source]

Roll's only weapon is a broom, which she swings like a club. She can perform a double-swing combo if you press the fire button twice while on the ground. You can download a variety of alternate costumes for her; some of these costumes give her a different weapon, but they all still work the same way. None of her costumes change her gameplay in any way.
