Hi Myth.  Since you asked for some feedback, here is mine.  I don't know anything about the game, so the only thing that I am commenting on is the formatting.  Please learn how to make use of headers.  See [[The Tower of Druaga (PCE)/How to play]] as one of many good examples on how to make use of headers.  Boss Battle, for example should be made at least a level 3 (three equal signs) header.  Additionally, I know that what I'm about to suggest is difficult for a majority of users to do, but artwork and screenshots goes a ''long'' way to improve the look of a page.  Even if you can't capture any screen images, if you can find and upload artwork of the boss that you are talking about there, it would help the page a lot.  But this is usually not something that the average editor is confident doing, so don't worry about it too much.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 14:51, 18 May 2007 (CDT)

Hey Myth, glad to see you've discovered the preload templates! However, there are a few things you need to know about them (especially the "new guide page" one, as it will be used a LOT). It seems that you've taken out the comments (the words enclosed in the <nowiki><!-- --></nowiki> that don't show up on the article itself, only in the edit box), which is good, but there are a few other things that you've missed. First of all, fill in prevpage= and nextpage= in the {{t|Footer Nav}} to correspond with the previous page and the next page, or remove it entirely. Also, the content of the page should go ''between'' the Header Nav and Footer Nav (like so, using the Guide as the example guide):

{{bp|Bulbasaur}} IS Grass/Poison by the way (Follow the link if you don't believe me). The type of the pokémon is determined by the newest game (in this case Diamond/Pearl). :::The hardest part about uploading files is finding the right image in the first place.  I believe that we have been "borrowing" the images from Bulbapedia.  Once you find the image you want, you would ideally save it to your hard drive first.  Then you would return to SW, and click "Upload file" on the left, and browse to the location of your hard drive where you saved the image.  Once you've found it, you make sure that it has the correct file name (that's extremely important, especially around here), and you give it a decription and a category (in the case of the Pokémon images, it's <nowiki>[[Category: Pokémon artwork]]</nowiki>, and then click Upload File, and viola, your image is uploaded.  Ordinarily I'd say go for it, but since Rocky is already taking the initiative to upload them, I'd hold back and see how far he gets before he takes a break. ::As did I.  Look, Myth, it's impossible to write the perfect guide.  Very few adventure games are linear.  So you do the best that you can, and introduce an area when you think a reader is going to encounter it.  If the reader happens to do things in a different from what you wrote, that's fine.  Just go with your gut instinct and put the route in the order that really makes the most sense to you.  And if it's impossible to decide, then seriously, put it anywhere, it really doesn't matter.  All that matters is that the reader can find it and learn what she or he needs to know about it when they get there.  No one is going to expect you to find an absolutely logical place for every aspect of the game.  Sometimes it simply isn't possible.  But stressing out about it and making it other people's top concern isn't going to help either.  So put it where you think it should go, and if someone ''strongly'' disagrees with you (which I doubt they'll do), they'll move the page, that's all.  That's the beauty of wiki.  Good luck.  I'm sure you'll make the best decision. == [[Pokémon Diamond and Pearl]] sparse???? ==

Why is Pokémon Diamond and Pearl considered ''sparse''? It's got a ton of information! I don't know how to do it, but could someone move it to at least the Maturing section? Thanks. [[User:Myth|Myth]] 20:24, 22 June 2007 (CDT)
:Done, and you can move a guide throughout the completion stages by changing the num parameter on the Header Nav. For example, when it is time to move DP up to stage 3, just edit the main page ([[Pokémon Diamond and Pearl]]) and change the num=2 to num=3. --{{User:Ryan Schmidt/sig}} 20:39, 22 June 2007 (CDT)

== Spel Chek™ ==

Despite the somewhat humorous heading, the following is a serious suggestion (well, serious in the non-joking sense, not serious as in you should seriously follow it, it's completely up to you). My suggestion is that you get Firefox 2.0 ([http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ here]). The browser comes with a built in spell checker, so you'll never misspell a word again (well, you CAN, it'll just underline it with a dotted red line). Just a suggestion :P (and if you're wondering where this completely random comment came from, you mentioned on your post to Zaiqukaj's talk page that you didn't know how to spell "etiquette" (you got it right, by the way), so I thought I'd drop by and tell you about the wonders of Spel Chek™!) --{{User:Ryan Schmidt/sig}} 12:45, 23 June 2007 (CDT) PS-it is not really called Spel Chek™, I just like using that phrase ;-)
:To answer your questions:
:#It is "free" in both the fact that it is open-source and that it costs squat to download it, use it, update it, add stuff onto it, create your own addons to it, reprogram it...
:#What security stuff are you referring to? It should work with them (its only a web browser), but you might have to configure your firewall to allow it access to the internet (duh). Check out the site from the link above to find other stuff out about it (namely the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.4/releasenotes/ release notes], [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features.html features], and [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/privacy/firefox-en.html privacy policy], as well as the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/eula/firefox2-en.html EULA] if you're interested in that sort of stuff).

== Your behavior ==

Honestly Myth, if what I said rattled you, then it had the intended effect.  I was very careful not to use any inappropriate language when I left you that note.  Out of every contributor to this site, you are the only one who consistently behaves in a childish manner.  By that I mean, over-reacting to small issues that occur, making your problems other people's problems, and generally initiating threads or responding to them in a less than sensitive or tactful manner.  It has nothing to do with how knowledgeable you are with the site, or how you write your guides.  Your guide contributions, in fact, are the only thing that I honestly feel I can compliment you on.  But your attitude and expressed maturity leaves a lot to be desired.  This is purely my opinion, and in no way a reflection of the site's feelings as a whole.  Sufficed to say, I have spoken with a few other members who agree.  But you asked what I meant, so I felt obliged to tell you.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 13:30, 23 June 2007 (CDT)

:I thought perhaps I should be more specific.  The comment you left on Community Issues regarding the categorization of the Diamond and Pearl guide was, in my opinion, completely inappropriate.  If you disagreed with the rating, all you had to do was ask how to change it.  Instead, you threw the equivalent of a tantrum, insisting that you disagreed with the rating and everything short of demanding that it be changed.  There was no need to react to the rating in that manner, and it could have been handle much more politely simply by asking how to change the number.  In fact, you didn't even express a desire to learn how, you simply wanted someone to do it because you seemed insulted by the rating.  That is a specific example of what I'm talking about.  I don't always make the best decisions, and I make mistakes all the time.  But one thing I always try to do is be sensitive and thankful towards the people I'm requesting help from.  When I see someone else fail to do that, it irritates me tremendously.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 13:37, 23 June 2007 (CDT)
::Just to note almost everything on this site can be changed by anyone (content wise...you can't touch the skins or protected pages).  If you are unsure how to do something, ask on the [[StrategyWiki:Staff lounge]] and someone would be glad to help.  Community issues is to discuss sitewide changes (ie. layout and policy).  Your contributions to the site have been great so far and I'm glad you have joined us.  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 13:42, 23 June 2007 (CDT)
:::Myth, if you haven't identified the problem yet, it's just that you need to watch how you type.  Like, anger and outbursts will get you nowhere but Proc and others' bad sides.  Anyways, just realize that we try to be very objective and "peaceful" here =)  --[[User:Notmyhandle|Notmyhandle]] ([[User talk:Notmyhandle|talk]] <small>•</small> [[Special:Contributions/Notmyhandle|contribs]]) 14:45, 23 June 2007 (CDT)

::::Okay, seriously, this is getting a little silly. All I said was that Pokemon Diamond and Pearl should be moved out of the Sparse category and moved to Maturing or higher. Then I got criticized for it. And it should have stopped there. Could we please get off the subject? It got moved, I was criticized, okay, I'll live with it, and it's all OK. it seems like more than a few of us are getting edgy, so let's get off the topic and cool off a little bit. There, that was a mature and sensible statement. [[User:Myth|Myth]] 16:47, 23 June 2007 (CDT) (BTW, I still don't see why putting 1 exclamation point after a sentence is considered a tantrum...)
Myth, you will continue to see things the way that you do, regardless of what I or anyone else has to say to you, that much is clear.  Trying to illustrate a problem to you is a waste of time (like your insistence that perhaps Firefox isn't free despite everyone telling you that it is).  I am not out to get you.  What I am for is the success of this site.  You do bring out the worst in me, and that is an issue for myself to deal with .  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 17:19, 23 June 2007 (CDT)

Go ahead and bug me all you want.  The best place however is the IRC channel.  Come visit sometime.  --[[User:Notmyhandle|Notmyhandle]] ([[User talk:Notmyhandle|talk]] <small>•</small> [[Special:Contributions/Notmyhandle|contribs]]) 01:26, 24 June 2007 (CDT)
:It can be accessed from http://irc.abxy.org, just use the command ''/j #StrategyWiki'' to join the SW specific channel. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 12:01, 24 June 2007 (CDT)

== pseudo ToC pages ==

Please try to avoid making "pretend" ToC pages like [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon/Cheat Codes]], [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon/Appendices]], and [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon/Getting Started]].  If the page isn't going to have useful content, there's no point linking it.  I'm marking them for deletion, but if you come up with some valuable content for them, do replace them.  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 20:02, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
:If you see them again, leave me a message.  If they are legitimate, I'll explain why, otherwise we can clean em up.  Also, you need to be an admin to "delete" a page (not just blanking which is different).  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 22:53, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
::Can you link to the specific Spectrobes page?  Also, whenever the #StrategyWiki channel is empty, the channel is "deleted".  If you join the channel it should be created with the original topic.  I used to be on all the time (whenever I was awake) but now I have a job so no IRC access :(.  Someone usually joins now and then, just wait around and someone will "eventually" come and help you (eventually may be a few hours though). -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 14:00, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
