When creating a new page, please use one of the preload buttons located above the edit text box, which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. Guide hierarchy

Hi there. First, let me thank you for working on the SMG2 guide here, it's very much appreciated. As you contribute to SW, you will no doubt come to better understand some of the policies we use to construct guides. While we encourage users to be as creative as they like with content, we try to adhere to particular arrangements so that users are not confused when trying to follow the various guides on the site. Even more than trying not to confuse readers, we want to confuse potential editors even less.

That being said, while it is extremely common for us to use one level of sub-directory for guide pages (e.g. game_name/guide_page_name), it is extremely uncommon for us to use two levels of sub-directories, although it is used in rare justifiable circumstances. And we never use three. We don't discourage guide pages from requiring users to scroll if necessary, so each galaxy's stars do not need their own page. They can be contained on one page.

I would encourage you to take a quick look at our site guide, and even better, to look at our featured guides so that you can get a good idea on how we tend to lay things out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and thanks again for your participation. Procyon 13:51, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

To be honest with you, I don't think the further subdivision after Boulder Bowl Galaxy is necessary. I think you can run with the hierarchy of:

• SMG2
  • World 2
    • Boulder Bowl Galaxy

and set up the page for Boulder Bowl Galaxy by listing each Star with level 2 headers, like so:

== Star 1: Rock and Rollodillo ==

Star 1 info

== Star 2: ??? ==

Star 2 info

Naming pages

Please do not use a subtitle for pages unless there are two pages with the same name. For example, the correct page should be Super Mario Galaxy 2/Boulder Bowl Galaxy, not [[Super Mario Galaxy 2/World 2/Boulder Bowl Galaxy]]. The latter is unnecessary unless there is also a World 1/Boulder Bowl Galaxy or similar naming conflict. Thanks for your help! --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 18:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

It's actually my fault. NMH is right. It's not so much a hard and fast rule, but like I said, we try not to go three levels deep with the page names unless we actually have to. It's basically to reduce confusion for editors who may not be as savvy with directory structures. You can follow NMH's advice on this. Procyon 13:54, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

It should be. If I recall, there have been many vandals that have used it to their advantage. The only pages you shouldn't be able to move are protected ones and files (images). --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 02:25, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
