Well, there are actually three versions of each story stage: normal, Dark World, and Land of Carnage.  (From what I've seen of the Disgaea community, the latter two versions are usually referred to as Dark and Carnage, respectively: Carnage 13-1, Dark 4-2, etc.)  But I haven't gotten to the Land of Carnage yet.
