Revision as of 19:09, 13 July 2006

This talk page is the perfectly proper place to discuss the Final Fantasy VII wikibook as a whole. The talk page has the following subpages:

Here's the archived content from this page:

The great big w00t

02:34, 16 February 2006 Wwwwolf (This is not really done it, but I believe this concludes the walkthrough.)

As you can see from the grammar, and the fact that I'm in Eastern European time zone (+2 hrs to the above), I beat FF7 yet again in a rather tired state and wrote about that in even more tired state. But at least the framework is there. The walkthrough "meat" is now there; all it needs is some more information and polishing. What can I say, except for "yay" or something along those lines?! --Wwwwolf 12:41, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Organization?

Should this page be organized (without a cover page) as Z:OoT is? -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:47, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Most likely. There are a number of games in states such as this: just look at the list of pages which link to cover. :-( --DrBob (Talk) 08:56, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Template: Final Fantasy VII Nav

I added this template to most of the pages here because I couldn't find my way from page to page. Each guide page should link to the next page, such as the intro page linking to the first walkthrough page at the bottom of it. And each page should have a last page, next page thing (with of course the last and next pages given), even the ones not part of the walkthrough I think. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:26, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Magic materia templates

these magic materia templates:

were very much destroying this page Final_Fantasy_VII/Materia/Magic_Materia, until I changed the [[Image:StarEmpty.gif]] and [[Image:StarFullTransparent.gif]] references. Where are those image s and why were they added when there was no image for them? -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:41, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Ugh. The image did exist in Wikibooks, but looks like it was forgotten when the thing got moved to StrategyWiki - during the initial import, most templates and images were borked anyway. =/ The picture file still exists here, and appears to be PD, so if you change it back, it should be okay if the file was just copied over to SW. But in my meager opinion, the materia template does need a redesign, so I don't think it's that urgent! --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 09:53, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
AH, alright, I'll import the image because even though I think a redesign is necessary, the stars look better then "Level Blah". Thanks -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 10:48, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Introduction

I have merged the introduction with the main page, above the table of contents. I got rid of the explanation about the guide, but will save it below in case it is decided that it should be preserved.

Welcome to StrategyWiki's a little bit incomplete, but slowly growing guide to Final Fantasy VII. This console role-playing game became a smash hit in 1997 and has continued to draw attention from video game fans everywhere.

This guide started August 18, 2005 on Wikibooks. In May 2006 the guide was moved here from Wikibooks due to policy changes. This guide was inspired by the massively successful Wikibook for Final Fantasy VI, and the dozens of guides already on the Web that aren't editable. Countless keyboards have had their keycaps faded as people worked tirelessly on walkthroughs on these games; this guide's intent is to waste some more time on this activity, hopefully for the last time ever.

This thing doesn't intend to serve only as a walkthrough, but also as an in-depth guide to specific parts of the game, complete game reference, site for in-depth analysis, and collection of trivia—also trivia that is too in-depth or trivial to be included in Wikipedia.
