Basic driving operations include using
to Accelerate
to Boost (only available after lap 1, with the exception of 'death race' and 'practice' where it is available from the start)
for air brakes
to toggle camera position- Control Stick to steer the machine
to toggle view of seconds between the car and first place driver (or second place if the player is currently in the lead)
and 
drift from side to side.- If and are held together, the car skids.
- or can be double-tapped to execute the 'Side Attack' move.
- Holding and double-tapping (or vice-versa) executes a spin attack.
