Deleting redirects

Template removal
Hey there. I saw you were merging some stuff from Wikibooks for Adventures of Lolo 2 (Japanese). You may have noticed I was using a template to try to draw levels with small graphics. I had thought that the use of a template would have eased things, but instead it's made things extremely nightmarish. I was wondering if it would be possible to get rid of the material I submitted for the template? I'm using modified versions of screenshots to get the point across and so far that's working out well.
The template basically consisted of images starting with: "Lolo_TileLandxxxx.png", where xxxx.png is the name of the tile. The whole template was a bad idea, and I'm sorry about it. --Sivak 18:25, 13 May 2006 (PDT)

Format of Recruitment Pages for Radiata Stories
Garret, I have added a suggested format for the recruitment pages of Radiata Stories. Since you seem to be the only existing user to have touched it, I thought I would ask you before changing the format.
Basically, I am taking my FAQ (which is available on my home page as well as GameFAQs) and putting it into the wiki. I don't see the recruitment page as being easy to do. Actually, I don't think it is feasible to create it using the current format.

Upscaling
Hi Garrett. I noticed you upscaled the images on the retro titles I worked on. That's cool, however I was trying to conform to the changes that DrBob made to my Donkey Kong page. I'm comfortable following whichever formatting is correct, but now there's a discrepancy between DK and the other pages that I started. Just want to know which one I should use from now on (and if DK needs to be fixed.) Thanks!

Colons
Hey Garrett, why do you think the controls are better without colons (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas/Basics/Controls)? To me, a colon denotes a relationship between the two operands even if one of them is an image (or something else). --DrBob (Talk) 03:32, 26 July 2006 (CDT)
- I would say tables are actually worse than lists without colons. It adds a huge amount of wikimarkup with no real benefit, as there're only two variables in the relationship, which can easily (and pleasantly) be expressed using lists (and colons! :-P ). --DrBob (Talk) 05:03, 26 July 2006 (CDT)
- I say leave it as a list. Don't use breaks. Apart from the accessibility concerns (how are screen readers supposed to know it's a list?), lists have many advantages when it comes to having machines read and "understand" pages. - I tried some table stuff on the page (see the talk page) but came to the conclusion that tables are more trouble than it's worth. Once the button images got inserted I started taking out the lists because the buttons form their own bullets in a way. I agree with DrBob that machine-readability is a goal, but it looks funny to have a little sqare next to the button image. Can we use styles to get a bulletless list? I also don't like the colons. How else can we insert some space between the button and the text?
- As for the "On foot" section, the only part with bullets below the button, I think it can be resolved by writing the section like the Xbox section. Insert more modes (fighting, FPS, etc.) and each button only does one thing per mode. Sympleko 05:23, 26 July 2006 (CDT)
- I don't know how feasible that <div id="nobullets"> idea is, because the CSS propery controlling bullet style might not be inheritable, but I can't remember off the top of my head. I think the bullets should stay anyway, as they provide a standard column in a recogniseable and standard style down the left of the list. The buttons can be quite different, so shouldn't be used as bullet points because they don't form an easily recogniseable column. I'm going into some deep design theory here, and I don't think I've explained it very well, but it's basically all to do with creating a uniform and easily-recogniseable style with (in this case) lists. Just using the buttons as bullet points doesn't do this, imho. (This is probably going to be my last post on the matter, as I'm due to leave on holiday for a week or more, but if you come to a conclusion in my absense, try to think of the issues I've raised, and if it deals with them.) --DrBob (Talk) 05:30, 26 July 2006 (CDT)
- I wasn't quite saying that the buttons should be used (subjunctive) as bullets, but that they in effect do call out (indicative) the individual points. Maybe we should just leave it as a list (with no colons) and, if we decide to restyle later we can (using CSS) Sympleko 06:27, 26 July 2006 (CDT)
- I just tried that, and I don't like it 100% either. I think it's because of the small amount of space between the button and the text. It looks better by adding two nbsp's, but that seems to be unkosher. Is there a way to insert some space on the right in the Image template? Sympleko 06:35, 26 July 2006 (CDT)

Re: Special:Unusedimages
Kernigh writes: I took a look at the situation with the "unused" NetHack images. I had originally uploaded more NetHack images then I needed, so in NetHack/Beginning I only used some of the images. I linked the others with [[:Image: and MediaWiki was not counting those as links. So I removed the links.
All of the NetHack Special:Unusedimages from Kernigh can be deleted; I will not bother to mark them. If I actually need one later, I will just upload it again. I would also like to see someone delete Template:NetHack that is already marked. --Kernigh 18:39, 16 September 2006 (CDT)
