Additional aircraft can be unlocked by completing the various missions in the single player campaign. Most aircraft can be upgraded using 'upgrade points' that can be earned by completing missions. These points can be spent on the plane select screen to upgrade aircraft.

Aircraft are rated out of five for guns, armour, agility, and speed.

P-40 Warhawk

The P-40 series is the player's starting plane and has rather humble stats, especially when compared to later aircraft.

Variant Name Special Weapons Guns Armour Agility Speed Description
P-40D 1.5 1 2.5 2.5 The Warhawk was built in huge numbers during WW2. By avoiding turn fights, Warhawk pilots could take on Japanese planes.
P-40E 2 1 3 2.5 This upgraded version of the Warhawk features two additional guns and a more powerful engine.
P-40N 2 1.5 3 3 The P-40N variant features an even more powerful engine than its predecessor.

F4F Wildcat

The F4F is a solid aircraft that's surprisingly agile. It's lacking, however, in the guns department.

Variant Name Special Weapons Guns Armour Agility Speed Description
F4F-3 1.5 2.5 3 1.5 The Wildcat was the US workhorse in the early stages of the war. Although outclassed by the Zero in one on one combat, the Wildcat's armour made it formidable in numbers.
F4F-4 2 2.5 3.5 2 The F4F-4 features two additional machine guns.
F4F-FM2 HVAR Rocket x6 2 3 3.5 2.5 The FM2 variant of the Wildcat sacrifices two guns in exchange for a significantly more powerful engine.
