Controls

  • Neutral dpad: Use this to move Scrooge from left or right. Use the up or down direction to climb up ropes.
  • A button: Press this to make Scrooge jump.
  • A button, Down dpad then B button: This makes Scrooge perform a pogo with his cane, in which it can defeat an enemy, and cross over hazardous obstacles.
  • Left dpad OR Right dpad then B button: If Scrooge is next to the solid object, use to knock the object out of his way. For the hard to reach ones, keep walking against the solid object until his walking animation stops. Jump, then press B button to hit the object that is out of reach.
  • Start button: Press this to see the list of items you have collected.
  • Select button: Not used.

Characters

Scrooge McDuck

Donald Duck's uncle and the player's character, armed with a cane that doubles as a weapon and a pogo stick. You are tasked with visiting the game's five levels to acquire the treasures they hold.

Scrooge begins the game with three units of health. Any damage taken will subtract one unit of health, while ice cream cones can be used to refill one unit and cakes to refill all of Scrooge's life units. In the Transylvania and Himalayas stages, Scrooge can expand the number of units he has by collecting an Extra Energy star.

Huey, Louie, Dewey, and Webby

Donald Duck's triplet nephews and Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter. If you come in contact with one of them, they will give you hints in every stage.

Launchpad McQuack

Scrooge McDuck's personal pilot and later Darkwing Duck's sidekick. If Scrooge passes by him and dies later on, Scrooge will respawn right next to Launchpad on his next life.

Launchpad also allows the player to leave a level early without confronting the level's boss by walking up to him and then hitting A button once his dialogue ends. The player will keep all the money they otherwise collected upon leaving via Launchpad. Once his services are used once in a level, he cannot be re-used in that level (but still acts as a checkpoint if Scrooge passes by where he once stood).

If the player allows Launchpad to take the player out of the stage and the amount of money the player collected in that stage has a 7 in the ten-thousands digit (i.e. 70,000), he will drop Scrooge off at the bonus stage.

Gyro Gearloose

Duckberg's residential inventor. He only appears in the bonus stage, flying in a plane, dropping large blue diamonds on the clouds.

Mrs. Beakley

Webby Vanderquack's grandmother and Scrooge's maid. She only appears in African Mines, tossing ice cream cones until Scrooge completely filled up his energy.

Bubba the Caveduck

He only appears on the Himalayas. If you find him, pogo jump him to get him out of the ice he'll break through the wall to reveal a secret.

Gizmoduck

Fenton Crackshell's invention. He only appears on The Moon. If you have the remote control, then he'll come in and blow up the structure in order to continue the path.

Items

  • Small Blue Diamond: Gains $2,000.
  • Large Blue Diamond: Gains $10,000.
  • Large Pink Diamond: Gains $50,000.
  • Magic Coin: This makes Scrooge temporarily invincible.
  • Ice Cream Cone: Fills only one energy orb.
  • Cake: Completely fills up the entire energy.
  • Extra Energy: Found in Transylvania and Himalayas. This gives Scrooge an additional energy orb.
  • Scrooge Doll: Gives Scrooge an extra life.
