Unlike Dance Dance Revolution games, this is about playing the guitar. Here are some specifics that is important when playing the guitar.
- Usually this is made for right hand players. For left handers, go to the options and flip it so they will have less difficulty playing the guitar.
- The buttons from top to bottom: green, red, yellow, blue and orange. These buttons are used primarily to play melodies.
- The strum bar is important because you need it to pluck the notes.
- The whammy bar is mainly used for notes that's held for a long time and allow you to have a vibrato effect.
- The star power is activated by tilting the guitar. The most important aspect is when you saved up to 6 power bars, you use it to jump back from your loss which is shown from the audience meter. Also you can use select or minus on the Wii to use the power.
- To pause the game, press start or plus on the Wii if you need to relax and restrain yourself from stress.
Alternate controllers
If you prefer a more casual experience or never have the time to setup the guitar, the alternative is best used although more challenging to master. Unlike the guitar controls, every note press on the button is also a strum button so keep in mind that this requires button timing.
Here are the button layout for people who likes a more casual challenging experience.

Special note: The wii remote needs to be hold sideways. You should shake the wii remote up and down for a better whammy effect. Also be careful not to accidently press the which is near the . The ps2 and 3 on the other hand, should be ready to use the left thumb to either use the whammy and the star power. Same with the Xbox360 and PC which is similar.
