Marvel Land is a platform arcade game that was released by Namco in 1989. It was the company's last game of the 1980s, runs on Namco System 2 hardware, and was later ported to the Sega Genesis in 1991. This version of the game was released under the name of Talmit's Adventure in the European Union on account of the fact that it had renamed the main character from Paco to Talmit, and had also renamed the Princess from Luxy to Wondra. The game also shares its name with the kingdom in which the old Japan-only 1986 Famicom game Valkyrie no Bouken: Toki no Kagi Densetsu takes place, but has no connections with it otherwise.

Introduction

The player must take control of Prince Paco, who is on a mission to save Princess Luxy from the evil "Mole King". The gameplay is similar to that of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. series, and uses some elements from Namco's own Pac-Land (which was released five years earlier). Power-ups include speed shoes that allow Paco to walk faster for a short period of time, a clone attack that allows him to strike out at the enemies by whipping clones of himself in a straight line, and dragon wings that allow him to jump higher and fly (to a certain extent). Most levels feature an enormous target at the end (akin to the flagpoles from the aforementioned Super Mario Bros.) which must be jumped through for 100 to 7650 (Namco's goroawase number) points, and boss battles are fought in the manner of "mini-games".
