Steven Strange was destined to be the next Sorcerer Supreme since his birth. He was beset with demons by a resentful sorcerer Karl Mordo throughout his childhood, before being rescued by the Ancient One, the protector of the Earth-realm and the current Sorcerer Supreme. He grew up to become a doctor, but due to guilt from an incident in the past and his success in medicine, Strange became arrogant and materialistic. Later on, a car accident severly injured his hands, ending his career as a surgeon. Strange spent most of his money on finding a cure for his hands, but to no avail.

Upon hearing rumors about the Ancient One, Strange pawned whatever he had left to take a trip to the East. He found the temple where the Ancient One resides, but instead of curing his hands, the Ancient One offered to teach him mystic arts. The Ancient One had known that Strange was a good candidate as a successor to the title of the Sorcerer Supreme, even before their first encounter. Strange studied the mystic arts under the tutelage of the Ancient One. After returning to New York, Dr. Strange worked as a mystic consultant. He slowly becomes more involved with the superhero community, eventually forming the Illuminati.

Being the Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange has an unrivaled mastery of the mystic arts. He can invoke the powers of the Vishanti, which is a trio of godlike beings consisted of Agamotto, Hoggoth and Oshtur, though he can occasionally draw power from demons like [[Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds/Dormammu|Dormammu]].

In [[Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3]], Doctor Strange possesses a fair amount of projectiles. Hie Eye of Agamotto can be sent forward using Impact Palm. His Grace of Hoggoth will affect the properties of Flames of the Faltine. The light version increases the speed of the projectile while the medium version creates an explosion at when the projectile strikes it. They also alter the trajectory of the Flame of the Faltine.
