Mat Mania is a coin-operated arcade game produced by Taito Corporation in 1985.
The player assumes the role of the wrestler Dynamite Tommy, who sought to win the TWA World Title from champion Golden Hulk. To earn his shot at Golden Hulk, Dynamite Tommy had to defeat four top contenders, all computer-controlled and in ascending order of difficulty: Insane Warrior, Karate Fighter, Coco Savage and The Pirana.
Once Dynamite Tommy defeats Golden Hulk for the title, he wrestles each wrestler again in the same order as before (except this time, the wrestlers are more aggressive). This all leads to a rematch vs. Golden Hulk, the TWA World Title at stake.
The player was equipped with a series of moves he could use to soften up, then eventually defeat his opponent.
A sequel, titled Mania Challenge, appeared in 1986. The follow-up allowed players to compete against one another in addition to computer-generated opponents.
