The "Special Edition" of this game features ten new rounds (designed by other Namco employees) replacing the original ones that had their numbers, as well as a new "ROUND SELECT" dip switch setting, which if set to "ON" when a player begins the game, will cause the game to freeze after the opening cutscene; the player can now turn the rotary controller to the right to select the round he or she wants to start on. When a new round is selected, the text "Field Designed by (EMPLOYEE NAME)" will appear below its number, with that employee's birthplace in brackets below that - and when a bonus round is selected, an animated button shall appear below its number (indicating that the player has to press the Launch Button as rapidly as possible to launch all balls upon those rounds). The first two rounds are the same as those of the original version, meaning the third one of this version is the first new one.
The new third round is also made to look like Ki from The Tower of Druaga, while the new fourth round is made to look like a Pooka from Dig Dug, crushed by a rock, and the next three rounds are the same as the original version.
The new eighth round is also made to look like Kyuji-Kun (a robot designed by Namco in the late 1980s that served tea to visitors and went on to appear in the Namco Museum games for Sony PlayStation, as well as Famista Dream Match for iOS), whilst the Speed Up and Speed Down blocks on the new ninth round also spell out FORTRESS (rotated ninety degrees clockwise to fit the monitor) and the next two rounds are the same as the original version.
The new twelfth round is also made to look like a five-sided star (with a capital letter E in it) and the next two rounds are the same as the original version.
The new seventeenth round bears a strong resemblance to the playfield from Cutie Q (even including a set of "rainbow blocks" at the top right). The next two rounds are the same as the original version, and the new twentieth one is also made to look like a Mewky from Mappy in their mid-air pose.
The ten remaining regular rounds, the boss battle against "Burida" for the thirty-third one, and the ending sequence are the same as the original version.
