Saints Row 2 is set in the same fictional city of Stilwater as its predecessor, but after the events of the original the player wakes up from a coma in Stilwater Prison's hospital ward five years later, after undergoing extensive plastic surgery. After teaming up with a brother of a former 3rd Street Saint, the player breaks out of prison and returns to a Stilwater both strange and familiar.
This game features numerous improvements over the original, including a larger overall playing area, several new areas, improved combat mechanics, a wider selection of vehicles, diversions, activities and weapons.
