We have both the NES and the Famicom listed. We all know that these are normally considered the same, but I can see that adding a separate Famicom listing is necessary for Japan exclusive releases. Is this what it (and other regional system differences) was intended for? --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 21:50, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

:I would say probably not.  It's not like we'd have a separate list for Japanese PSX or Dreamcast games, so the NES/Famicom distinction should be in system name only.  At best, we could justify having a Famicom Disk System release list as a separate list.  Nice work on the recent cleanup, btw.  [[User:Procyon|Procyon]] ([[User talk:Procyon|Talk]]) 11:38, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Sources?

So, where is everyone getting this information from? Wikipedia is nice and all, but some of the categories include stuff that aren't games, I was just wondering whether we should source it from one place (official or otherwise) or whether we should make an (educated) guess from Wikipedia or whatever.--Froglet 09:04, 2 April 2007 (CDT)

Wikipedia has a List of video games page that links to different lists by system. I say we just use those lists... This process is going to be extremely tedious, especially for the larger systems (Playstation 1 and 2, Super Nintendo, etc.). Keep in mind that some games might be repeats under different names, as well.--DukeRuckley 11:27, 2 April 2007 (CDT)
Tedious, yes, but extremely necessary for tracking our content (or lack thereof). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:50, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Regional releases/Famicom

We have both the NES and the Famicom listed. We all know that these are normally considered the same, but I can see that adding a separate Famicom listing is necessary for Japan exclusive releases. Is this what it (and other regional system differences) was intended for? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:50, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
