:In order to breed a Gold Chocobo, you must first breed a "great female" and a "good male." I don't believe it is possible any other way, though I am not entirely positive. Basically, if you follow this guide as it is written, you will have no trouble breeding a gold chocobo.--'''[[User:Dukeruckley|Duke]][[User_talk:Dukeruckley|Ruckley]]''' 15:34, 9 September 2007 (CDT)

== Breeding for Blue & Green Chocobo ==
For those having trouble getting the right colour and gender to appear when mating your original good and great chocobos, I found the following to be true:
I'm using an emulator on my computer and created a save point standing next to Chocobilly. I have a Great Female and Good Male, both at A-Class. When breeding them with the normal Carbo Nut, I found that I always got a Green Male. However, when I accidentally stepped out onto the farm and returned to the stable, I got a Blue Male. As loading emulator states is fast, I tried this repeatedly, and found that it was always a Blue Male if I left once. After running statistically significant number of trials (many hours wasted out of curiosity), I came to the following rules:
Talking first time: Green Male
In/Out of stable Once: Blue Male
' Twice: Blue Male
' Thrice: Green Female
' Fourth: Blue Female
As I was looking for a Blue Female, I stopped running the trials...that and I'd covered all colours and genders. Now, I'm not promising this order holds true on a PS one, but I have concluded that if you are stuck always getting the same colour and gender, leave and come back in. Hope that helps anyone having issues :)
