Biased[edit]

Umm...Hope i don't burst anyone's bubble here but you CANNOT call it the "Best" Flight sim. WAY Biased and a good way to get sued also. WillSWC 00:57, 5 January 2007 (CST)

Say what? Anyone who knows anything about real aircraft and simulators will agree with the statement that X-Plane is the best flight simulator in its price range; Microsoft Flight Simulator doesn't even come close. X-Plane is good enough that, when equipped with a suitable display and controls, qualifies for simulated instrument flight time for the purposes of maintaining instrument proficiency under U.S. Federal Aviation Administration rules. It don't think any other personal computer or game console based flight simulator programs can make that claim. As a holder of ratings in helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, I can also say emphatically that most other flight simulators do not simulate the performance of real aircraft at all. The problem stems from the fact that other flight simulator games and programs are typically written by individuals who have no aviation or aeronautical engineering background — or any engineering background whatsoever.

You can get better flight simulators, like those build for military and commercial aviation training, costing millions of dollars, but you can't get a better one for home use at a price that the consumer can afford than X-Plane. This product blurs the lines between a toy and an engineering tool. —HydrargyrumT @ 23:30, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
