Controls

  • Joystick: Use the 4-way joystick to direct the red tank (or the blue tank if you're player 2, the yellow tank if you're player 3, and the green tank if you're player 4) around each round.
  • Firing Button: Use this button to make your tank fire shots at the enemies. If one player's tank shoots another player's tank, it will push the other player backwards one small tile.
  • 1, 2, 3 or 4 Player Buttons: Push these buttons to begin the game as player 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Characters

The Players' Tanks

The protagonists of the game. Player 1 controls the red tank, Player 2 controls the blue tank, Player 3 controls the yellow tank, and Player 4 controls the green tank. They can fire up to two shots on the screen at a time, and cannot fire again until one of their shots hits an enemy tank or a wall. Unless a force field is surrounding the players' tanks, they can be killed by one enemy bullet. As said above, if one player's tank shoots another player's tank, it will push the other player backwards one small tile, but it will not kill them.

Normal Tanks

These tanks are the first enemies you encounter in the game. Their bullets travel at the same speed as yours (without powerups). One hit will kill them, and they are worth 400 points.

Speed Tanks

These tanks are like the Normal Tanks, but can move somewhat faster. Their bullets however, will still travel at the normal speed. One hit will kill them, and they are worth 600 points.

Hard Tanks

These tanks move slower than the Normal Tanks and have the same firepower. They start out gray and turn redder each time they are hit. Three hits will kill them, and they are worth 1000 points. However, unlike other enemies which have multiple hit points in this game, they will slowly regenerate their full amount of hit points if they are not hit for a few seconds.

Big Tanks

These are the slowest enemy tanks in the game. Five hits will kill them, and they are worth 1500 points; however, their flame-like shots can destroy walls with double firepower and it takes two hits to neutralize them, so it would be best to kill one when it is not facing you, because if it is facing you, you may not be able to neutralize its flame-shot in time.

Jeeps

These are the fastest enemies in the game. Unlike the other enemies, they do not get stuck in the walls and when they hit a boundary of any sorts, they change direction to continue moving. They attack by laying sticks of dynamite which will explode and destroy any walls or kill any players that are in their vicinity. One hit will kill them, and they are worth 800 points.

Rapid Tanks

These tanks move fairly slowly and warn you when they are about to fire on you, which also makes them vulnerable given that they will stop moving every time they do so. However, they attack by firing four fast-moving bullets at a time which can be very hard to neutralize and can result in a rather quick death. One hit will kill them, and they are worth 1200 points.

Tomahawk Tanks

Unlike the players' tanks and all the other enemies (which take up a space of 2 x 2 small tiles), these tanks take up a space of 4 x 4 small tiles. They will stop moving when firing but do not warn the players prior to their firing, unlike the Rapid Tanks. They attack by firing three missiles simultaneously. Eight hits will kill them, and they are worth 2000 points.

Bosses

Every 4th stage is a boss stage. All bosses and their turrets move randomly left and right and take many hits to destroy. When bosses and their components are destroyed, the maximum amount of regular enemies onscreen typically increases.

Light Armoured Wagon

Points: 3000

First encountered boss vehicle which has 1 turret in the center of it. These shoot projectiles similar to standard bullets, although these are sometimes not possible to destroy from below and travel at much faster speed. To destroy them, try to have protective cover both in left and right of you and move away as the center of the vehicle moves right above you.

Heavy Armoured Wagon

Points: 5000

Much more dangerous than light armoured wagon. Has 2 turrets, 1 near the each end of the wagon. It's much harder to shoot them in safe range, especially when tank has 2 or more firepower upgrades since it's much safer to fire at it before moves directly above you.

AK-1

Points:

  • 3000 (1st turret),
  • 5000 (2nd turret),
  • 10 000 (3rd turret)
  • 18 000 (total)

A large vehicle with 3 turrets which must be destroyed to destroy the vehicle. Each of these turrets fire 2 high-speed bullets when they're pointed downwards so their attack pattern is somewhat predictable. When all the regular enemies are gone, it's advised to move as upwards as possible to minimize the time between shots and move away when turrets are starting to point downward. However, this method is risky and those on safe side should stay on lower portions of the screen.

AK-2

Points:

  • 3000 (1st turret)
  • 5000 (2nd turret)
  • 8000 (3rd turret)
  • 10 000 (4th turret)
  • 26 000 (total)

Second incarnation of AK vehicle is much more dangerous than the first one. It has 4 turrets which are more closely packed together than in AK-1. In addition, these turrets shoot projectiles similar to those which are shot by flame tank which means they take 2 shots to destroy. In addition, these are much faster. Fighting strategy is similar to AK-1, although harder to execute.

Heavy Turret

Points:

  • 10 000 (1st turret)
  • 15 000 (2nd turret)
  • 20 000 (3rd turret)
  • 30 000 (4th turret)
  • 75 000 (total)

As a part of the final boss, these are extremely dangerous, shooting 3 missiles in a row so it's best to dodge these whenever possible. When turret's hitpoints lower, it starts to move faster. With each destroyed turret, the remaining ones start to move faster. The last remaining turret moves at great speed and is hard to hit.

Power-Ups

Often, when enemy is destroyed, a power up will appear semi-randomly on the screen when You must touch them to collect them and activate their effects.

Power-up Description
Firepower This upgrades your tank and their effects are only lost after dying. First upgrade allows 2 shots on-screen at the same time, second speeds up the projectile speed and third one allows to destroy steel blocks. Some of the temporary weapon power-ups are affected by player's firepower.
Points These give you 500, 1000, 2000 or 3000 points to your score.
Base Fortification Changes wall around headquarters to steel blocks for a short amount of time. In addition, any damage done to wall previously is repaired.
Airstrike Destroys all enemies on-screen. Player receives points for every enemy destroyed. In addition, all dynamites laid by jeeps are defused.
Clock Stops all the enemy tanks for several seconds, allowing to harmlessly shoot them down. Sometimes even shooting down enemies right when they roll into stage is possible.
Shield Makes player invulnerable to enemy attacks for some time. Useful when rolling into the the fire line of enemies can destroy large amount of enemies within the short amount of time.
Tank Provides with extra life. These are very hard to come by.
Small tank Makes player significantly faster, making defending the headquarters and reaching power-ups easier. However, it does not make a player harder for the enemy to hit.
Double cannon Shoots 2 projectiles at the same time with faster speed. However, it can't destroy steel even when player has 3 firepower upgrades. Thus this power-up is generally not recommended for upgraded tanks, unless for purpose for breaking through non-steel terrain fast.
4-Way cannon Shoots in 4 directions at the same time. Effective in levels when it's required to take enemies down coming from multiple directions.
Power cannon Shoots powerful projectiles which are faster, pierce through terrain quickly and do more damage. Very effective against bosses.
Wave cannon Although not damaging terrain, this goes through everything, damaging every enemy in its path. It also does more damage to enemies than regular shots. This is one of the most useful weapons and allows to attack enemies and especially bosses with little danger.
