Usage in Side-View

Moves your character left and right.
|
|
Makes your character duck. You can move left and right while ducking to do Goemon's signature crawl.
|

When pressed, your character will lunge their weapon (or throw if using their throwing weapon) in front of them, hitting foes in that direction. When the button is pressed in combination with , you can attack upwards. (Can be used while ducking and in the air).

Makes your character jump. The jump can be steered a little with the d-pad to help with precision.

Activates or cancels the selected Jutsu move.
|
|
Cycles through your weapons. The order in which they are arranged is as follows: Melee Weapon, Throwing Weapon, Bombs.

Pauses the game and pops up a menu to select any Jutsu moves purchased in that Warlock Zone.

Pauses the game and pops up a menu that shows all items that Goemon and Ebisu have collected during their journey.

Usage in Top-View

Moves your character in the direction held. Your character can also move diagonally.

Moves the cursor over a different option / item.

Makes your character leave the building. Pressing down on the d-pad will do the same thing, except when down is used to select an option, such as when selecting Yes or No.

Skips to the next line of text in a textbox. Holding the button will cause the text to appear faster.

Skips certain cutscenese, such as the intro scenes to Warlock Zones and the prologue scene.
