There are many items that can assist our heroes in making their journey a lot easier. Some can be easily found and others must be worked for by collecting money.

Items That Can Be Purchased[edit]

Headwear[edit]

Headwear will allow you to take some free hits by falling objects and falling attacks. The stronger the material, the more free hits you can take!

Armor[edit]

Armor works the same way as the hats, except instead of protecting you from falling objects, this allows you to take free hits from just about everything else. While the armor and helmets make you take no damage on contact, you still flinch from these attacks, so be careful.

Sandals[edit]

Item Description
Mystical Ninja Sandals.png Sandals are very important in the top-view stages. They are relatively inexpensive and a have many different uses. Sandals will increase your run speed and allow you to jump over longer gaps. Sandals can be stacked and the stats go up each time. You start with one pair of sandals and can get up to three to max out your stats. Any extra sandals purchased will not boost your stats, but will fill in if a pair is lost. You will lose one pair of sandals each time you take a hit in the top-view stages (even with armor). So, be cautious when you run fast with them. Sandals have no effect when playing in side-view stages (which also means you can't lose them in side-view stages).

Food[edit]

It's very important to eat on your long adventure. When times get tough and you lose all your health, you can chow on some snacks to heal you up. Each food heals a different amount, but they are vital for success, especially if your new to the game. (Note: When the game was localized for the U.S, they changed the Riceballs to Pizza to make it more "western-ized". Just to clear up any confusion that may be had).

Quest Items[edit]

These items are required to beat certain levels and are really expensive. You may need to farm for these items. Visit their respective chapters to learn more about them.

Item Name Zone Cost Description
Mystical Ninja Pass.png Pass 6 $980 A signature item in the Goemon franchise. While it serves the same function, it's only needed in one level, to access the level's side-view stage, located in the mountains.
Mystical Ninja Dialect Book.png Dialect Book 8 $980 Allows you to speak to the people of Ryukyu Kingdom (including the king, whom you must talk with to access the second segment of Zone 8).

Other Items to Buy[edit]

Item Name Description
Mystical Ninja Bonus Mystics.png Bonus Mystics Gives the character an extra life. Make sure to buy your character's specific Mystics, unless you want to buy your friend a 1UP.
Mystical Ninja Hourglass.png Hourglass Restarts the time limit. This item isn't all that useful since the levels aren't hard to beat quickly. This item is only useful when farming for large amounts of money or when playing a ton of games in Warlock Zone III.

Items That Can Be Found[edit]

Ryō[edit]

Item Description
Mystical Ninja Ryo.png Ryō is the most important item in the entire game. Ryō is an ancient Japanese form of money. It is the game's form of currency and you need it for many different uses. It is used to buy all the items above in the shops, play mini-games, view attractions, and can even be used as a useful projectile weapon. The weapon costs $4 a piece. Since it is the currency, it is the most common item in the game. It can be found in pots, treasure chests (which are found in mazes and secret rooms), can be won by playing mini-games, finding secret characters and by killing enemies. Grab as much money as you can! Your gonna need every cent of it!

Scrolls[edit]

Scrolls can either be very important and helpful or completely useless to you. Scrolls are found in pots, mazes and when killing enemies. Scrolls are used to gain power levels. Every ten scrolls gains you one power level. Power levels are used to activate the Jutsu Moves. Each time you use a Jutsu move, you use up one power level. Since Jutsu moves are very expensive and only last for that zone, you can avoid the scrolls and Jutsu moves entirely, but beginners are recommended to use the Jutsu moves, since they can be very helpful. (Note: The three and five count scrolls are unused in the game, as they were meant to be purchased in shops, but the game's manual still mentions them. They are included here for curiousity).

Item Mystical Ninja 1 Scroll.png Mystical Ninja 3 Scroll.png Mystical Ninja 5 Scroll.png
Scroll Count 1 3 5

Lucky Cats[edit]

Item Name Description
Mystical Ninja Lucky Cat.png Lucky Cat Lucky Cats are very useful on your journey. Grabbing one will upgrade your weapon to the next level. If your weapon is already at Level 3, you will be rewarded with $10 instead. They can be found in pots, secret rooms and when killing enemies.
Mystical Ninja Golden Lucky Cat.png Golden Lucky Cat Golden Lucky Cats are even more useful since they add 2 points to your health bar. However, the health upgrades only stay for that zone, just like the Jutsu moves. So, it's best not to go out of your way to get them. They can be found in pots and secret rooms, usually in hard to reach places.

Other Items That Can Be Found[edit]

Item Name Description
Mystical Ninja Heart.png Heart Refills your entire health bar. Not very common, but pick it up when you find it. They can only be found in pots.
Mystical Ninja Elephant.png Elephant Doll These little guys act as checkpoints. When you lose a life in the side-view stages, you can start from an area where you found one of them. Most are found in pots, where as others can be found in plain sight.

About the Pots[edit]
