| : This is a tricky issue. We went with the artwork because the artwork doesn't change from version to version. But since 0-172's pokedex is specific to R/S/E, it's not that big a deal that he chose to use the sprites over the artwork. For a general pokedex, it should use artwork. But if you want to go to the trouble of getting the sprites for each Pokemon in Diamond and Pearl, you could use the same technique.
