Personally, I would prefer to keep them separate since they are "different" games.  It just happens than you can use all the old stuff in BW again.  I would actually say not to bother with the link at the top like that, but it's useful so keep it.  The other solution is to transclude the SC page in the BW guide (like the tocs on all the front pages).  However, without cleaning the pages up first, it'll just make a big mess. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 18:21, 20 July 2007 (CDT)

Yes B, they were talking about you.  Karl was talking about having you remove the image size limitations (200px I think is what you've been setting them as) because if you remove them and leave it just with "thumb" in place, the images get set to what the user changes them to in their preferences (Karl has his set to over 300).  This is an official policy that has yet to be added to the SW:Guide.  Thanks.  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:25, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
:Ah OK, I'll start removing them. [[User:Baejung92|Baejung92]] 16:43, 28 September 2007 (CDT)

What does Xfire have to do with playing StarCraft?  Can't you just close the program? --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:43, 19 September 2007 (CDT)
:Sorry I didn't clarify this... it's not that I can't play the game, I just can't take any screenshots. Whenever I try to take a screenshot using the default key (it's F5 I think) the game saves it as a .pcx file and my computer can't display it for some reason. So I have to do it by using Xfire's in-game screenshot taking feature (which saves in .png format). Since the newest update, though, it's not letting me take any screenshots (in StarCraft only). I guess I could do only the text until it's fixed, but I'd rather work on other sections of the guide. [[User:Baejung92|Baejung92]] 17:46, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
::That's what the Print Screen button is for.  Press print screen, open MSPaint, paste, and there's your image.  You can then save in whatever format you like *cough*PNG*cough*. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 19:34, 20 September 2007 (CDT)
:::Ah... those little buttons off on the corner that I never use (well except for scroll lock, occasionally). Thanks, I'll try it later today. [[User:Baejung92|Baejung92]] 17:14, 21 September 2007 (CDT)
::::Ok so StarCraft won't let you do it, like some other games, because they have basically overridden the button's function with their own.  Try downloading and using this program: http://www.batchconverter.com/image-converter.html (I've never used it, nor downloaded from that site.  I recommend scanning the zip file with your anti-virus.).  You should be able to conver the pcx files to png.  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 17:18, 23 September 2007 (CDT)
:::::Thanks. Although... if it has a trial period, wouldn't I be a bit pressed to convert as many screenshots as I can during that time? I guess it depends on how long the period is... I'll check it out and see. [[User:Baejung92|Baejung92]] 19:40, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

If you ever notice vandalism, the first thing you should do is revert it. You can accomplish this by going into the diff view (from the history) and clicking "undo" and then "Save Page." However, since that only reverts the very last edit, you'll need to manually go back to the last revision not by the vandal and save that revision if the vandal had more than one edit on that page. Next, depending on the seriousness of the vandalism, put either {{tl|Vandalism warning}} or {{tl|Vandalism only}} on the vandal's talk page. If it is a persistent vandal, notify a sysop so that the vandal may be blocked. --{{User:Ryan Schmidt/sig}} 20:32, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

Thx for the pointers.  I already used up my brain cells for the day trying to figure out how to upload pics.  Like I say, I am new at all of this, but I am making progress. {{unsigned|Karlcsr}}

It's been decided that there's no point welcoming users until they've made their first contribution, as we get several tens of registrations per day, and perhaps one or two of those new users actually contributes, so it's not really worth welcoming them all. --{{:User:DrBob/b}} 16:36, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

Prod does a fine job of cleaning up the indices and all, but we cannot see eye to eye on the C&C Generals Page.  I don't think there is any point in Prod and I discussing it any further.  We absolutely have opposing views and are both adamant and unbending in our perspectives.
The difference is, I have spent the past few months nonstop on my work product, and he has not.  I think he should have first say on the other 1250 games here and I should have first say on Generals.
I am adamant about the fact that people go to walkthrough, they see a stub and they leave.  I feel extremely strongly that I am spinning my wheels and people finding this site on the internet will leave without seeing my work product.
(His great "compromise" was putting in "microprint" china usa gla....you can barely see it)...
Until the walkthrough page is fleshed out (and God forbid I am afraid to touch it because Prod has erased everything I hvae done on that page) I want something to be there instead of "Stub."  Prod is unrelenting in making sure the walkthrough page is a stub.  It is unfathomable to me and has absolutely raised my blood pressure on a number of occasions.
Why, why, why must he hide my work product?
I want him to leave my pages alone.  I want something to be on the walkthrough page, a listing of the different missions....a listing of the different walkthroughs...thus the name 'walkthrough.'  He is afraid it will look like an "index" or "table of contents."  Heaven forbid, the end of the world.
If I can't get this resolved, I am not going to spin my wheels for nothing and work so hard and people can't find my work product.  I will go elsewhere.
I feel unappreciated, used, micromanaged, mismanaged, abused.

Prod and I are going in the right direction.  Actually I was thinking of your suggestion if that would make Prod happy...maybe a pic referring to the Challenge missions and then "click below for a full listing of the walkthroughs"...something to that effect...my only concern is people getting lost.
I let Prod have the last rant...[[User:Karlcsr|Karlcsr]] 18:25, 28 November 2007 (CST)
== [[Call of Duty 2/Hill 400]] ==
You've done a great job with the CoD2 guide so far.  However, I think you've put too many images on the Hill 400 page.  The page weighs in at almost 700k which takes a while to download.  Try to stick to only using images of things that are either hard to explain, or significant to the gameplay.  I would suggest between 10-15 images for that page (maybe 20 if you ''really'' need them). -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 00:16, 17 December 2007 (CST)
:Thanks, I'll get to that... tomorrow (outta time today). Are there any other pages that need image trimming? [[User:Baejung92|Baejung92]] 23:50, 17 December 2007 (CST)
== SC2 ==
I wouldn't bother arguing or discussing changes made to the SC2 guide with MrSue - it would be a waste of your time.  Just wait until things get officially announced at SC2's site, and then we'll go at it with the shovels and paint brushes =)  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 02:50, 13 March 2008 (CDT)
== Images ==
Try to avoid using br's to arrange your images since everyone's monitor will see it differently. Use {{t|-}} to properly space things out instead.  Another option is to try using the gallery tags instead of thumnails. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 22:15, 12 April 2008 (CDT)
:Try not to overload the page with images.  Just a few images to explain the more complicated aspects. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 20:15, 24 May 2008 (CDT)
== StarCraft Spacing ==
If possible, please use <nowiki>== Headers == </nowiki> to help space out the starcraft pages (based on changes in a mission or strategies, etc.).  It will help fix the resolution issues we face (it looks perfect on 800x600 or so, but when it gets higher the page gets messed up; something that I can fix a different way).  Anyways, the headers fix spacing AND provide readability/navigation through a mission.  Thanks for the awesome contributions, --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 17:45, 29 June 2008 (CDT)
:I think it's 3-4 headers.  You can also force a ToC to appear by placing <nowiki>__TOC__</nowiki> (note there are two underscores on either side) where you want it.  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 22:17, 29 June 2008 (CDT)
