Honestly, I think that guide needs a complete rewrite. In fact, I'd say all 3 of the other jobs (I already rewrote the Archer's guide) would need this. Unfortunately while I even have mid level Warriors and clerics myself, I don't know enough about these jobs to write a better guide. So, don't worry about it too much... It'll probably get erased and redone soon.--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 01:11, 29 August 2007 (CDT)

:It looks good, but I don't know much about clerics. If you can clean up all the "I" and discussion about your self in the first person, then that would be great for here. since you wrote it you're free to post it where ever you like. You can try changing parts of it to like "In JezzaRules' Experience, it is better to go to ***** monster at ** level" rather than "I think you should go to ****** at level **." that would make it fit better here. (In regards to your user page, I can 100% guarantee you GMS's next patch will be a masteria expansion. Can't say anything more about it though.)--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 22:00, 21 June 2008 (CDT)
::I just quickly looked at it, but you should be able to add some of those suggestions into the guide we have.  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 01:20, 22 June 2008 (CDT)

Once your image(s) are uploaded, navigate to the article you wish to place them on and paste the filename into the article. For example if you uploaded '''Bubble Bobble Floor 94.jpg''' you would paste  '''<nowiki>[[Image:Bubble Bobble Floor 94.jpg|thumb|Insert description here]]</nowiki>''' Incidentally that kind of image would go in [[:Category:Screenshots]]. You can substitute ''thumb|Insert description here'' with ''left'' or ''right'' depending on which alignment you want. Hope this helps, if you have further questions after this and reading the appropriate [[StrategyWiki:Guide/Image_naming|documentation]] please don't hesitate to ask. --{{User:Charitwo/Sig}} 00:25, 4 September 2007 (CDT)

== "Soon" ==

Don't mark things as "soon" unless there's some sort of official announcement about it's upcoming release. Ariant for MSEA gets marked soon because of the newsletter. Omega for EMS gets marked soon because of their accidental early release. While it's almost certain that Ariant for GMS is gonna be .56, we can't be marking it as though it's fact until Nexon says so.--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 20:59, 23 May 2008 (CDT)
:If you're talking about the thing that I think you're talking about, that was for MSEA. If you're talking about another thread, then yeah the data of GMS .wz files indicates that Ariant will come out soon. However, there's no telling what could happen between then and now, and we don't want to incite false hopes. So, even though I personally am 100% certain that Ariant will come out in GMS's next content patch, I won't mark it as "soon" on the chart here because there's no way to know if something else will happen to change it. ONLY official announcements from Asiasoft, Nexon, Shanda, Gamania, etc. will be counted as evidence enough for a "soon".--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 22:47, 24 May 2008 (CDT)

== Archer guide ==

There's a reason every guide says that, and that's because it's true. Archers have at least one obviously bad skill in nearly every job so planning builds is pretty simple. Arrow Blow sucks, Final Attack sucks, Thrust sucks... for 4th job it's basically just deciding the order, and even after all this time there's no agreed upon cookie-cutter build. Generally, it's considered very important to get Bow Expert, Hurricane, and Sharp Eyes, and all other skills get put on the back burner for a while.--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 00:08, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

== Crimsonwood Keep ==

Nah, it's gonna be as accessible as NLC was from day 1. It sounds to me like there might be more than Crimsonwood coming as well (I mentioned this on Southperry, as well. Check there for greater detail). Crimsonwood is a medieval, classical Fantasy type town, in the vein of Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons. So far the two NPCs that NxProse has posted (Taggrin and Joko) both look like Ninjas. They clearly don't seem to fit in with this classical European Fantasy town, but we do have a hinted location on Masteria that they would fit in: the Dragon Door area. Prose also continues to say things like "Bigger is Better" and "the key is not once per year, it's how many areas you actually get." so I'm inclined to believe we'll see more than one expansion.--[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 04:23, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
:Oh, and if you want to just chit-chat about this it's much easier to do so via PM's on Southperry. --[[User:IsaacGS|IsaacGS]] 04:35, 12 July 2008 (CDT)

== Making new pages ==

Hey, you have been adding some good info for the ROSE Online guide but could you please include headers and footers when you make new pages.

There are buttons right above the text box (Main game page, Guide page, Company page, Table of Contents) that will instantly add the template for any required bits of code that are needed for that specific type of page. They are really helpful and save a lot of time.--[[User:Zaiqukaj|Zaiqukaj]] 02:44, 25 August 2008 (CDT)

:The buttons Zai is talking about are the ones you can see in the image on [[StrategyWiki:Guide/Starting a new guide#Creating the main page|StrategyWiki:Guide/Starting a new guide]]. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 03:40, 25 August 2008 (CDT)

== Images ==

Before uploading any more images, please make sure you follow the naming conventions, suggestions for descriptions, and categorization. You can find the necessary information at [[StrategyWiki:Images]].  Thanks, and if you have any questions be sure to ask! --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 20:20, 26 August 2008 (CDT)
:Again, please name your images correctly and categorize them! This is your second warning. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 21:36, 30 August 2008 (CDT)
::Thank you for not reading the guide I linked. You should name your images as: "GameName Description.extension". The description in the file name should be as minimal as possible. If the image is part of a series, for example a map, an icon, an item, etc. you can classify all similar images with a word that groups them together (for example, "ROSE Online Icon <icon name>.jpg".). The smallest name you should go with is just "ROSE Online <image>.jpg" (as I've added to the first parameter of the {{t|rename}} tag on all of your images that need renaming). Again, please read over [[StrategyWiki:Images]]; at least the first section. Thanks, --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 19:37, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
:::It's been a while, but images still need to have categories. Make sure you add them when you upload them. Here is [[StrategyWiki:Images|the policy]], here is where applicable {{c|Images|categories}} reside, and [[:Image:MS Skill KoCMagic Claw.png|here]], [[:Image:MS Skill KoCPower Strike.png|here]], and [[:Image:MS Skill KoCSlash Blast.png|here]] are some of your images I've added categories to for reference. == Guide templates ==

Please don't use the {{t|stub}} template in different sections of a page. That template goes at the top of the page, above the {{t|Header Nav}} to signify that the page as a whole is a stub. You should be using the {{t|sect-stub}} template, which goes at the top of  section, right below the '''<nowiki>==heading==</nowiki>'''. This template is for near-empty sections. To be honest, where you are mostly using it - to show incomplete lists - you really don't need any template at all. We all add to the wiki over time, so just complete the list when you can; it would be too time consuming to mark every piece of missing information with that level of specificity. If you merely want to indicate that the page is "under construction," you can put a {{t|wip}} template at the top of the page above the Header Nav to show that it's being worked on. Thanks, - [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 04:28, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

== Paragraphs ==

Hey, I notice that you often use a line break (press enter) in your text at places where it looks like you may be trying to start a new paragraph. If making a new paragraph is your intention, you can achieve this by using two line breaks, which leaves an empty line between the paragraphs. Maybe you already know this, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. :) - [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 15:08, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

==Image categorisation==
When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct [[:Category:Images|image categories]] and the guide-specific category, i.e. '''<nowiki>[[</nowiki>Category:MapleStory skill images]]'''. The image policy is viewable [[StrategyWiki:Images|here]], and contains all the information you'll need to categorise future uploads. --[[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 15:35, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
:This is the sixth time you've been asked to properly categorize your images. Any further violations of policy will result in a temporary ban. This is a very simple task that helps us keep 30,000+ images organized on the site. Please see [http://strategywiki.org/w/index.php?title=File%3AMS_Skill_Lightning_Sprite.png&diff=411564&oldid=411426 this diff] for an example of how to properly categorize. Thank you, — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 15:35, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

== External links ==

External links are for information that is either out of scope of StrategyWiki, or just too much for us to cover.  Sleepywood has a huge MapleStory community, Hidden-Street has tons of info, so we link to them.  If you have a lot of info that isn't covered in one of the other links, then it's probably OK. Of course, it's better if we can cover all the information here :).  -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 19:04, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

:Like Prod said, we would rather contain all information about the game on ''this'' site.  If you're working on something on another wiki, there's absolutely no reason why we can't contain that information here.  If your information was contained on an uneditable site, that would be one thing.  But we're StrategyWiki.  Why would we want to send our viewers to a competing wiki site?  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 23:11, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

::There are no problems with linking to websites from your own. We want more websites to do this, because it improves our rank in search results and may give us additional traffic. Also, just reply to messages in one thread (i.e. this one, or the one on Prod's page; all of the admins watch each others' talk pages). --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 02:13, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

:::Additionally, I'm starting to add maps (town and surrounding areas) to the town pages, mostly to note NPC locations. Using <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> we should be able to come up with simple ways for people to look at them. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 02:24, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
