Valkyrie no Densetsu/Stage 2

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have landed on the ground, start walking forward by pushing your joystick into the "northern" position, as four Green Goblins emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you; once you have fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin (which is worth five in gold) behind. Once you have collected them all, you will come to the travelling salesman Zoul in the centre of the screen - and when one player walks up to him and enters his realm, the other will automatically get drawn in as well.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in Zoul's realm, he will speak the Hiragana text Irasshaimase (いらっしゃいませ) to them before proceeding to ask the first player to choose between a 3-Way Shot (sceptre) for 200 in gold, a Wide Beam (shield) for 500 in gold and a Homing Shot (crossbow) for 800 in gold; you must push the joystick into the "north-western" position to select that first item, the "northern" position to select the second item and the "north-eastern" position to select the third item then press the Firing Button to confirm your choice. Once Valkyrie has paid Zoul for her chosen item, he will ask the second player to choose between the two remaining items - and you cannot push your joystick into the position of the absent item. Once Sandra has paid Zoul for her chosen item both she and Valkyrie will leave Zoul's realm (they can also do this voluntarily if they cannot afford to pay him by simply pushing the joystick into the "southern" position) and reappear in the stage proper; the sign that stood behind him will also have disappeared.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in the stage proper, continue walking to the left by pushing the joystick into the "west" position as four more Green Goblins emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you; once you have fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, continue walking forward by pushing the joystick into the "northern" position as you come to a volcanic crater in the ground (with four Red Demons jumping out of it towards you) - and once you have fired enough shots from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them (as with the eight on the first stage, they will not leave anything behind), you will come to a green chest which contains a Homing Shot. Once you have opened the chest and collected the crossbow, you will come to another volcanic crater in the ground, with four more Red Demons jumping out of it towards you; once you have fired enough Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them (once again, they will not leave anything behind), continue walking forward as ten Logs come bouncing towards you. Once you have fired enough Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of the Logs to kill them, they will each leave a large coin (worth twenty in gold) behind - and once you've collected them all, three Purple Goblins will emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you. Once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind; once you've collected them all, continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position, as eight Brown Fly Drills come flying towards you in a curved line from the right side of the screen. Once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind - and once you've collected them all you must jump over the edge of the platform to land on another platform as a bird-like cawing sound is heard from the C140, and the song you'd been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 changes to indicate the first "mini-boss" battle.

A Doragon will then emerge from the depths of the pit to curl its body around Valkyrie and Sandra and breathe flames at them once its head is lined up with their current horizontal or vertical position on the screen; once you have fired enough Homing shots from your sword or trident at this to kill it, it will leave ten small coins behind, but you will have to be quick to collect them before they drop off the edge of the platform. You will then have to jump over the edge of the platform to land upon a third platform before jumping onto a fourth platform with a Green Tolento waving its tentacles around on it - and once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at it to kill it, it will leave a small coin and a small "magic bubble" (worth half a circle on your magic meter) behind. Once you have collected them both, you will have to jump over the edge of the platform, and land on a fifth platform with another Green Tolento waving its tentacles around on it; once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at it to kill it, it will leave a small coin and a small "magic bubble" behind. Once you have collected them both, you will have to jump over the edge of the platform and land on a sixth platform with seven more Purple Goblins emerging from the ground and throwing their spears at you on it - and once you have fired a Homing shot at all of these, to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you've collected them all, continue walking forward, by pushing the joystick into the "northern" position, as you come to an injured young man who cannot stand up in the centre of the screen; when you push your Firing Button to speak to him, he will speak a Hiragana text, Kono ue ni izumi ga arimasu soko made ika reba... (このうえにいずみがありますそこまでいかれば...) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before disappearing. You will then have to jump onto a square vertically-moving platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto a seventh platform with a small pool of shallow water and the elderly sorcerer Babasama standing on it - and it is possible to swim around in the pool of water for a while, but the song that you had been hearing from that Yamaha YM-2151 will fade out until you decide to press your Firing Button and speak to Babasama.

Once you have pressed your Firing Button to speak to Babasama, he will speak out a Hiragana and Katakana text of Koko made kite kureta saikuron nojutsuwosazukeyō. (ここまできてくれたサイクロンのじゅつをさずけよう) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before granting them that Cyclone spell and four more bubbles on their magic meters (as with your Option spell, this spell is worth half a bubble); they will then have to jump back onto that aforementioned vertically-moving square platform in mid-air, before jumping back onto that aforementioned sixth platform, continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position and jump over the edge of the platform to land on an eighth platform with an eleventh Purple Goblin emerging from the ground and throwing his spear at you on it. Once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at him to kill him he will leave a small coin behind - and once you have collected it you must jump over the edge of the platform to land on a ninth platform with a twelfth Purple Goblin emerging from the ground and throwing his spear at you on it - and once you've fired a Homing shot from your sword or trident at him, to kill him, he will leave a small coin behind. Once you collect it, another bird-like cawing sound will be heard from the C140 and the song you'd been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will change for a second time, even though it has already been changed once in the stage, to indicate the stage's second "mini-boss" battle.

Once you have fired enough Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin and a small "magic bubble" behind; once you've collected them all, continue walking to the right until you come to a red chest (which contains a randomly-generated amount of gold). Once you have opened the chest, continue walking forward by pushing the joystick into the "northern" position as six more Logs bounce towards you - and once you have fired enough Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they'll each leave a large coin behind. Once you've collected them all, eight more Brown Fly Drills will come flying towards you in a curved line, from the right side of the screen; once you fire a Homing shot from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. Once you've collected all these, you'll come to the travelling salesman Zoul, upon the right side of the screen - and when either player has entered his realm, the other one will automatically be drawn in as well.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in Zoul's realm, he'll speak the Hiragana text Irasshaimase. (いらっしゃいませ) to them, then ask the first player to choose from: a Wide Beam (shield) for 500 in gold, a Through Shot (spear) for 1000 in gold, and a Healing Herb (Doku Plant) for 1500 in gold; again, push the joystick into the "north-western" position to select the first item, the "northern" position to select the second item and the "north-eastern" position to select the third item, then press the Firing Button to confirm your choice. Once Valkyrie pays Zoul for her chosen special weapon he'll ask the second player to choose from the two remaining items - and you again can't push your joystick into the position of the absent item. Once Sandra has paid Zoul for her chosen special weapon, both she and Valkyrie will exit Zoul's realm for a second time and reappear in the stage proper.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in the stage proper, continue walking to the left by pushing the joystick into the "western" position as two Flames come bouncing towards you; once you've fired enough Wide or Through shots from your sword or trident at both of them to kill them they will both leave a large coin behind. Once you've collected them both two more Purple Goblins will emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you - and once you've fired a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, two more Flames will come bouncing towards you; once you have fired enough Wide or Through shots from your sword (or trident) at both of these to kill them they'll both leave a large coin behind. Once you have collected them both, two more Purple Goblins will emerge from the ground then start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you - and once you've fired a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at both of them to kill them, they'll both leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them both, three more Flames will come bouncing towards you; once you have fired enough Wide or Through shots from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them, they will each leave one large coin behind. Once you have collected them all three more Purple Goblins will emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you - and once you fire a Wide, or Through, shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all three more Flames will come bouncing towards you; once you have fired enough Wide or Through shots from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they will each leave a large coin behind. Once you have collected them all three more Purple Goblins will emerge from the ground and walk towards you while throwing their spears at you - and once you've fired a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. Once you collect them all, you'll come to a volcanic whirlpool, with a Scissors sitting in its centre; it attacks by drawing Valkyrie and Sandra towards it while firing brown balls at them (which will leave large coins behind when destroyed). Once you fire enough Wide or Through shots from your sword (or trident) at it to kill it, it'll leave ten small coins and ten money bags (worth fifty in gold) behind - and once you've collected them all, you'll have to jump onto another vertically-moving square platform in midair before jumping onto a thirteenth platform. You can now either jump onto a third vertically-moving square platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto the Brown Boss Tolento's platform or jump onto a fourth horizontally-moving square platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto a fourteenth platform; if you chose the second option, you will then have to jump onto a fifteenth platform, with a twenty-third Purple Goblin emerging from the ground on it. Once you fire a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at him to kill him, he will leave a small coin behind - and once you have collected it, you will have to jump onto a sixth vertically-moving square platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto either the Gold Boss Tolento's platform or a sixteenth platform with two more Purple Goblins emerging from the ground on it. If you'd chosen the second option, you'll have to fire a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at both of the Purple Goblins to kill them; once you have done so, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them both, eight more Brown Fly Drills will come flying towards you in a curved line from the right side of the screen - and once you've fired a Wide or Through shot from your sword or trident at each of them, to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you've collected them all, you'll have to jump onto a sixth vertically-moving square platform in mid-air before jumping onto the Green Boss Tolento's platform; once the Boss Tolento you have chosen to fight appears the vertically-moving square platform you have just used to reach its platform will disappear and the song that you'd been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will fade out for a second time in the stage.

As the "boss" theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 for the second time, all three Boss Tolento attack in the same way; by spitting tiny versions of themselves at Valkyrie and Sandra, which will each leave one small coin behind when killed, while sticking their roots into the ground and feeling around with them. Once you've fired enough Wide or Through shots from your sword or trident at the one you've chosen to fight to kill it, it will leave something specific to its colour behind; the Brown one leaves ten small coins and ten money bags behind, the Gold one leaves ten small coins, ten money bags and a 3-Way Shot behind and the Green one will leave ten large "magic bubbles", which are worth a full circle on your magic meter, and a Magic Book behind. Once you have collected all of the items, the screen will fade out, and you'll receive a 20000-point bonus and 400 in gold.

Once the screen has faded back in, an old man with a white beard will have appeared in the centre of the platform, behind a ladder leading down to the third stage, Magma no Dōkutsu; when you push your Firing Button to speak to him, he will speak that Hiragana text Sā kono hashi ga wo orite chika wo nukeru no ja! Chikano iwa ana ni sumu o baba ga tasukete kurerudarō. (さあ この はしがをおりて ちかを ぬけるのじゃ! ちかのいわあなにすむおばばがたすけてくれるだろう) to Valkyrie and Sandra before they proceed to climb down the ladder and the screen fades out for a second time once they have gone.
