MQ Stage 21B.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared, at the bottom of the screen, three more Saber Tigers or Taka (written in Katakana as タカ) will appear in front of them as the Katakana text Sutēji 21, noruma 3 (ステージ21, ノルマ3) appears at the top of the screen; the three-script text Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 3 (第1問, 残りノルマ3) will then appear at the top of the screen before the first question and its three (or four) possible answers appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly, Scott or Stanley will repeatedly whip or punch one of the Saber Tigers or Taka, to make him explode - but, if you answer any question incorrectly, one of the Saber Tigers or Taka will suddenly go for Scott or Stanley. Once you've answered three questions correctly, the Katakana text Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen, and Scott and Stanley will go on to the twenty-second stage.

Stage 22[edit]

MQ Stage 22B.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared, at the bottom of the screen, four more Gorillas or three more Saber Tigers will appear in front of them as the Katakana text of Sutēji 22, noruma 4/3 (ステージ22, ノルマ4/3) appears at the top of the screen; the threescript text Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 4/3 (第1問, 残りノルマ4/3) will then appear at the top of the screen, before the first question and its three (or four) possible answers appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer any question correctly, Scott or Stanley will repeatedly whip or punch one of the Gorillas or Saber Tigers, to make him explode - but if you answer a question incorrectly one of the Gorillas or Saber Tigers will suddenly go at Scott or Stanley. Once you answer four or three questions correctly the Katakana text Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen and Scott and Stanley will proceed onto the twentythird stage.

Stage 23[edit]

MQ Stage 23A.png
MQ Stage 23B.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, a singular Zou (written in Katakana as ゾウ) will appear in front of them or thirteen Abu (written in Katakana as アブ) will begin to chase them as the Katakana text of Sutēji 23, noruma 1/5 (ステージ23, ノルマ1/5) appears at the top of the screen; the threescript text Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 1/5 (第1問, 残りノルマ1/5) will then appear at the top of the screen, before the first question and its three (or four) possible answers appear, and the time meters start emptying. If you answer one question correctly on the western path, Scott (or Stanley) will repeatedly whip (or punch) the Zou, to make him explode - but, if you answer a question incorrectly, the Zou will stamp on Scott and Stanley's heads or the Abu will suddenly go for them. Once you have answered five questions correctly on that southern path, that Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen, and Scott (or Stanley) will jump into a pool of water (which will only be written into the game on this occasion).

Stage 24[edit]

MQ Stage 24A.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, five more Iguanas or Zako-Hei will appear in front of them as the Katakana text of Sutēji 24, noruma 5 (ステージ24, ノルマ5) appears at the top of the screen; that three-script text Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 5 (第1問, 残りノルマ5) will then appear at the top of the screen, before the first question and its three or four possible answers appear, and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly, Scott or Stanley will repeatedly whip or punch one of the Iguanas or Zako-Hei to make him explode - but if you answer any question incorrectly, one of the Iguanas (or Zako-Hei) will suddenly go for (or throw their machetes at) Scott and Stanley. Once you have answered five questions correctly, the Katakana text Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen and Scott and Stanley will proceed to the twenty-fifth stage; if you chose the western path at the start of this area you will have to play two extra stages, but if you did not, you will be treated to the following cutscene:

「宝玉は塔の最上階です」
('Hōgyoku ha tō no saijōkaidesu')

「よし! 中に入ろう」
('Yoshi! Chū ni nyūrō')

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared, at the bottom of the screen, two more Lions will chase them up two trees or three more Zako-Hei will appear in front of them as the Katakana text of Sutēji 25, noruma 7/5 (ステージ25, ノルマ7/5) appears at the top of the screen; that three-script text of Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 7/5 (第1問, 残りノルマ7/5) will then appear at the top of the screen, before the first question and its three or four possible answers appear, and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly, Scott and Stanley will both scramble back to the tops of their trees, or repeatedly whip or punch one of the Zako-Hei to make him explode - but if you answer any question incorrectly they will slide down to the feet of their trees and the Lions will scratch them (or one of the Zako-Hei will throw his machete at them). Once you answer seven or five questions correctly, the Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen as the sky turns red and Scott and Stanley drop down to the ground on the western path.

Stage 26/28[edit]

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared, at the bottom of the screen, five more Zako-Hei or Wani will appear in front of them as the Katakana text of Sutēji 26, noruma 5 (ステージ26, ノルマ5) appears at the top of the screen; that three-script text of Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 5 (第1問, 残りノルマ5) will then appear at the top of the screen, before the first question (and its three or four possible answers) appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly, Scott (or Stanley) will repeatedly whip (or punch) one of the Zako-Hei or Wani, to make him explode - but, if you answer a question incorrectly, one of the Wani (or Zako-Hei) will suddenly go for (or throw their machetes at) Scott and Stanley. Once you answer five questions correctly, the Katakana text Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen; if you had chosen the western path at the start of the area, you'll now be treated to the cutscene described in the twenty-fourth stage's section of this page. But if you had chosen the southern path at the start of the area, the Kanji/Hiragana text Shinro wo erande kudasai (進路を選んでください) will appear at the top of the screen and you will have ten seconds to decide which path you wish to take by pushing its number's corresponding Answer Button, which are indicated by the four Katakana and Kanji texts of Supōtsu スポーツ, Shumi 趣味, Zatsugaku 雑学, and Nonsekushon ノンセクション respectively - and this one is also a second appearance for Supōtsu.

Stage 27/29[edit]

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, four Hebi (written in Katakana as ヘビ) or Zougame will appear in front of them as that Katakana text of Sutēji 27, noruma 4 (ステージ27, ノルマ4) appears at the top of the screen; that three-script text of Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 4 (第1問, 残りノルマ4) will then appear at the top of the screen before the first question and four possible answers appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly, Scott (or Stanley) will repeatedly whip (or punch) one of the Hebi or Zougame, to make him explode - but, if you answer a question incorrectly, one of the Hebi or Zougame will suddenly go for Scott (or Stanley). Once you've answered four questions correctly, that Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen; the screen will now cut back to a shot of the temple hall as the Kanji/Hiragana text of Shinro wo erande kudasai (進路を選んでください) appears at the top of it. You then have ten seconds to decide which path you wish to take by pushing its number's Answer Button (which are, as with the seventeenth stage, indicated by the four English, Kanji and Katakana texts of SF eiga SF映画, Yakyū 野球, Seibutsu 生物, and Nonsekushon ノンセクション respectively, SF again standing for Science Fiction) - and a lime-green square will flash up above the orange one (which wasn't mentioned in the previous stage's section of the page) on the right side of the screen, once you have made your selection.

Stage 28/30[edit]

MQ Stage 30 (28)A.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, four more Iguanas will appear in front of them (on paths 1 and 2), or they will walk into a room which has a spiked ceiling (on paths 3 and 4), as that Katakana text of Sutēji 28, noruma 4/5 (ステージ28, ノルマ4/5) appears at the top of the screen; that three-script text of Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 4/5 (第1問, 残りノルマ4/5) will then appear at the top of the screen before the first question and four possible answers appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer any question correctly Scott and Stanley will repeatedly whip (or punch) one of the Iguanas to make him explode, or the spiked ceiling will go back up to the top of the screen - but if you answer any question incorrectly, one of the Iguanas will suddenly go for Scott and Stanley, or the spiked ceilings will come down on top of them. Once you have answered four or five questions correctly the Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen; the screen will now cut back to a shot of the temple hall as the Kanji/Hiragana text of Shinro wo erande kudasai (進路を選んでください) appears at the top of it. You then have ten seconds to decide which path you wish to take by pressing its number's Answer Button (which are, as on the ninth stage, indicated by the four Kanji and Katakana texts Sekai chiri 世界地理, Jiken·jiko 事件・事故, Kyūgi 球技 and Nonsekushon ノンセクション respectively) - and a pea-green square will also flash up above the lime-green one on the right side of the screen once you have pressed any of the Answer Buttons to confirm your choice, but the next temple will feature new categories.

Stage 29/31[edit]

MQ Stage 31 (29)A.png
MQ Stage 31 (29)C.png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, two Honorians (written in Katakana as ホノーリアンズ) will start chasing after them (on paths 1 and 2) or three more Zako-Hei will appear in front of them (on paths 3 and 4) as that Katakana text Sutēji 29, noruma 5/3 (ステージ29, ノルマ5/3) appears at the top of the screen; the three-script text of Dai 1-mon, nokori noruma 5/3 (第1問, 残りノルマ5/3) will now appear at the top of the screen before the first question and four possible answers appear and the time meters start emptying. If you answer a question correctly on paths 3 and 4 Scott (or Stanley) will repeatedly whip (or punch) one of the Zako-Hei, to make him explode - but if you answer any question incorrectly, both of the Honorians will suddenly go for Scott and Stanley, or one of the Zako-Hei will throw his machete at them. Once you have answered five or three questions correctly, the Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen as Scott and Stanley jump into two pools of water (which will only be written into the game at this point) on paths 1 and 2; the screen will then cut back to a shot of the temple hall as a turquoise square flashes up above the pea-green one on the right side of the screen. Now it is time for the third boss battle - but this one will pose a 15-puzzle stage instead of a true/false trial.

Stage 30/32[edit]

MQ Stage 32 (30).png

Once Scott and Stanley have reappeared at the bottom of the screen, the area's boss (which is another enormous four-armed statue) will appear in front of them as the three-script texts of Sutēji 30, e no nan dai, noruma 7 (ステージ30, 絵の何題, ノルマ7) appears at the top of the screen; the Kanji/Hiragana text of Tsugi no e ha nanidesu ka? (次の絵は何ですか?) will then appear at the top of the screen as the first question (and four possible answers) appear and the time meters start emptying. As with the second stage upon the western path the questions will have "15-puzzle" pictures above them - and once you have answered seven questions correctly, Katakana text of Noruma kuria (ノルマクリア) will appear at the top of the screen. The statue will then start to explode (causing the red jewel to fall out of its forehead), as Guide Kakari runs in from the right side of the screen and speaks that Hiragana/Kanji text Sā, nigemashō! (さあ、逃げましょう!), then runs off the left side of the screen with Scott (as Stanley runs off that right side); you will now be treated to the following cutscene, the first part of which will once again be identical to the one that you were shown at the end of both the second and sixteenth stages:

ノルマ2減少次のステージのノルマが2減ります
(Noruma 2 genshō-ji no sutēji no noruma ga 2 herimasu)

('Fushi no jīn ha bōrei-tachi ni mamora reta bashoda zōdesu')
「ヒェーッ」
('Hyē')
MQ Stage 32 (30) Cutscene 3.png

The screen will now cut to a shot of the overworld map as the Kanji/Hiragana text Shinro wo erande kudasai (進路を選んでください) appears at the top of the screen; you will then have ten seconds to decide whether you want to take that western path, by pressing the first Answer Button (which is indicated by the four Kanji, Katakana and English texts of Eiga 映画, Gurame グラメ, CM, and Shakai 社会 - CM stands for Court Martial), or the northern path by pressing the second Answer Button (which is indicated by the four Kanji and Katakana texts Ongaku 音楽, Shizen kagaku 自然科学, Manga マンガ, and Kuruma·baiku 車・バイク). The questions on the next six stages will therefore relate to the four categories which are indicated upon the path you choose.
