Magical Vacation (マジカルバケーション Majikaru Bakēshon?) is a duology of Japanese RPGs created by Brownie Brown, presently known as 1-Up Studio. The first game in the series, Magical Vacation, did not see a release outside of Japan, whereas its successor Magical Starsign (known in Japan as Magical Vacation: When the Five Planets Align) was localized in the United States and Europe. In Western localizations of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, however, the series is still referred to as the Magical Vacation series.
The games are centered around groups of students who attend Will-o'-Wisp Academy, a magic school on the planet Kovomaka, as they embark on mystifying adventures across foreign and unusual worlds. Both entries are acclaimed for their turn-based combat, which involves intricate elemental magic systems, and multiplayer functionality that unlocks additional content.
