Dark Guld's forces are varied, but there is also some repetition. Like many games, a few basic enemy designs are used in a variety of colors to indicate their difficulty.

The manual only gives the names for a handful of enemies, so the others are unofficial. For simplicity the club enemies are called Longmoans (the name of the club-wielding foes in Golden Axe) and the clawed enemies are called Heningers (the other stock enemy of the original game).

Greness[edit | edit source]

Lower class members of Dark Guld's army. They use their claws to attack, and can also charge at you.

Colors: Brown, Blue, Fuscia, Silver, Purple, Pink, Gold.

Zakkar[edit | edit source]

Another basic cannon fodder enemy. They wield clubs.

Colors: Brown, Blue, Fuscia, Silver, Purple, Pink, Gold.

Wizard[edit | edit source]

These replace the thieves of the original game. Instead of magic pots they drop magic books, but the end result is the same. Unlike the thieves they will put up a fight if encountered during a stage, although they will not fight back during the bonus stage. As well as riding Bizarrians they can also fire magic blasts from their staffs. Their attacks are all very weak.

Colors: Green, Red, Grey, Purple.

Skeleton[edit | edit source]

One of the most dangerous foes. Skeletons are fast, and can combo just as quickly as you can. Just like you they have a dash atack, a jump attack, and a death jab.

Colors: White, Grey, Pink.

Neo-Skeleton[edit | edit source]

They look identical to normal Skeletons but have more health and move even faster.

Colors: White, Grey, Pink.

Hell Lizard[edit | edit source]

  • Japanese: ヘル=リザード (romaji: heru rizaado; the "=" character appears to be a made up punctuation mark indicating a space)

Lizards have all the power and speed of Skeletons and have a lot of health as well. They are frequently encountered in groups.

Colors: Green, Red, Purple.

Minotaurs[edit | edit source]

Initially encountered as a boss and later as mini-bosses. Minotaurs wield large morning stars and have both charging and throwing attacks.

Colors: Brown, Red, Blue.

Death Armor[edit | edit source]

These headless monstrosities have large swords, giving them a lot of range. At close range they can also perform a shield bash. They cannot dash or run, making it a bit easier to fight them. If you charge at them they will dodge the charge (whereas Minotaurs simply charge)

Colors: Bronze, Red, Silver, Gold.

Bizarrians[edit | edit source]

During your travels you will see enemies riding strange creatures called Bizarrians. If you dismount their riders you can use beasts yourself. All their attacks deal a lot of damage. The only downside is that they cannot perform attacks that involve jumping, nor can they perform the spin attack.

Green Dragon[edit | edit source]

The Green Dragon kicks with its powerful hind legs.

Like the Chicken Leg, it ends up facing the other direction after kicking.

Fire Dragon[edit | edit source]

The Fire Dragon breathes fire for a great distance, but cannot move while doing so.

Chicken Leg[edit | edit source]

The Chicken Leg attacks by flailing its twin tails around.

As in the original game when you use the tail attack the Chicken Leg spins around and ends up facing the other direction.
