As the game starts out, there is a rather pretty cutscene which sets the mood for the rest of the game. Kameo runs over a raising drawbridge and jumps as high as she can. Immediately, we are introduced to our first Elemental Warrior, Chilla, as Kameo shifts into him midair to latch onto an ice wall. It is here that we take over control, and boy, do they really throw you into the fray!
Thorn's Castle[edit]
Icy Climb[edit]
While Chilla hangs from the wall, a mysterious voice tells you that Kameo has the ability to change into Elemental Warriors (duh!), and that their power should enable her to climb to the top of the castle. "Your Chilla form should make light work of this icy wall..."
The text box gives you directions on how to move while climbing an ice wall. Use the left stick to maneuver, and pulling the right trigger (RT) will cause Chilla to Leap in whatever direction the left stick is pointing (even down). Start out by climbing to the top. Leap up the wall and to the left when the ice changes direction, but be quick! Behind you is a Troll Cannon trying to knock you off the ice wall and to your doom (or, in this case, a broken back from landing on the hard stone floor). The Trolls are really bad shots, but if you should fall, just walk up to the wall again, and Chilla will start climbing. There is also a help page floating to the left of the ice wall, if you want to read it, that tells you more about Chilla's wall-climbing ability. When you are over the ground again, instead of dangling into space, pull the left trigger (LT) to drop to the ledge. As soon as you land, you are treated to a cut-scene of three Trolls trying to (unsuccessfully) control a dragon by beating it over the head. One of them gets eaten, but the other two start walking toward you menacingly.
Breaking into Thorn's Castle[edit]
Kameo shifts into Pummel Weed, and you're told that LT and RT will deliver swift jabs, which will do short work of the two remaining Trolls.
